The GOP knew but refused to cross Trump - it's on a recording 👀

Alex Wagner ✔@alexwagner

This secret recording of @SenatorBurr suggests some in the GOP fully grasped how serious COVID 19 would be, but refused to say so publicly -- putting American lives at risk to maintain allegiance to the Trump WH:

They let Trump take away their power, and now, even someone like Burr who knows what we were up against, speaks in private what he should have said in public.

We need leaders, not cowards in Congress.

Yes, more Americans are going to die, including some of Sen. Burr's constituents, but Burr feels that's preferable to provoking the ire of Needy Amin.

There is no other way to explain this.

Let's face it, in time of crisis the truth in people come out. We are now seeing the true face of the GOP party. A bunch of worthless , evil, power hungry SOB, that don't give a damn about anybody but themselves. It's time to put them back in their places. It's time to unite and vote them completely out. Stop falling for their flag waving BS

They have a website and describe the club as “A short distance from the U.S. Capitol stands the Capitol Hill Club, a refined and elegant environment for your business, political, and social activities.”

Most likely a non-public place for Republicans to meet with lobbyists and business executives to get their marching orders.

They got the word, passed it along. I'm sure stock purchases and toilet paper runs on the store were started. After all, some people get to the front of the line as Drumpt said yesterday.

wait until the disaster hits then wiggle our of responsibility and let someone else take the blame.

He has no concept of preemptively trying to head off a disaster.

He only has the capability to react to situations and that reaction is always to deflect the blame, not to solve the problem.

That's probably why all his businesses failed but he never suffered legal consequences.
This technique has always worked for him before.

The GOP is not afraid, it is complicit and yes, they know why they are and the ulterior motivation is.

Just my opinion.
