WTF were you thinking when you elected this asswipe Nunes and can you please do something about it this time?
(yes i know it's not a statewide race.... but WTF, I think california in general is smarter than that)

(15,124 posts)But you can blame Fresno, California. And Lodi too, I think.
But I agree with you. So many of these Repug officials have shown their true stripes. Burr, Nunes, Cornyn, and the list goes on and on.

(36,444 posts)It's in a purple district currently held by the Democrats.
Fresno grows raisins, while Lodi's grapes, kissed by the Delta breeze, make a reasonably palatable front porch wine.

(14,972 posts)James Manuel Costa (D) is the rep for the majority of Fresno proper.
In a state with independent-commission-drawn (i.e. non-gerrymandered) districts, and a voter base that registers 43% D and 24% R, and LARGE rural areas where the urban rural divide is just as wide as any other state, we sent to DC 45 Dems and 8 Repukes to this Congress. How much better do you expect us to do?
Asking Californians at large to get rid of Nunes is like asking Americans at large to get rid of some deep red state Repuke Senator. All the Democrats everywhere will agree with the goal, but the ones who live there don't have the juice to make it happen, or they'd have done so last election.

(90,714 posts)As I have read here an annoying number of times. The country will not gain several Democratic Senators; quite the contrary. It's a big state, with most of the Democratic population right along the Coast. The interior tends to be Republican.

(15,124 posts)Have you seen that "Greater Idaho" nonsense?? All of Eastern Oregon is deep red and they talk about secession all the time. They complain about the Democrats being in charge in Salem, but are very happy to have Democratic $$ from the state and the feds.
