*'At WETA (DC area PBS) we are working hard to keep you updated
during this period of confusion and disruption.
Its been less than three months since reports of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China first made international headlines. With worldwide cases on every continent except for Antarctica growing significantly every day, the World Health Organization has now declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.
Confronting Coronavirus: A PBS NewsHour Special airs on WETA and PBS stations across the country tonight from 8 9 pm ET, and will focus on health precautions for individuals and the public-at-large as well as the pandemics economic impact in both the United States and globally. Produced right here in our WETA studios, this primetime special, to be anchored by managing editor Judy Woodruff, will include interviews with Anthony Fauci, Austan Goolsbee and other top officials and experts; reporting from PBS NewsHours bench of special correspondents throughout the world; and a virtual town hall with curated questions from people across America, to be moderated by NewsHour senior national correspondent Amna Nawaz.
Please note that we've updated our website at weta.org/coronavirus to include information about the outbreak and how to stay safe, links to local resources for assistance and recent headlines from local and national news sources so you can keep track of the latest updates in our area. Please also check out our Stuck at Home Survival Guide for parents and caregivers home with their house-bound children. Additionally, we have changed our previously scheduled pledge programming from 8 am to 5 pm to air educational kids programming instead. To view our schedule changes, please visit our website.'
