Forget about Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Andrew Cuomo is now the acting President of the United States. Trump continues to think that the job of president is “reality show moderator in chief.“ Andrew Cuomo, on the other hand, the governor of New York State and a former member of Bill Clinton’s cabinet, has been doing a morning update every day this week with facts, figures, and reassuring stories about his own family. He has been showing us what humanity, decency, and competence look like. CNN, MSNBC and even Fox News are carrying Cuomo’s morning updates live nationwide. Now that America has figured out that not only has Trump been lying to them for years but that the Republican Party and their trickle down economics for the past 40 years has been a scam, the country is turning it’s back on Trump and the GOP. Every time Trump speaks, the stock market goes down even more and faster.

America now gets it. In Brazil, the people are demanding that right wing president Jair Bolsonaro step down because he did the same thing Trump has done in failing to prepare for a crisis that was obviously coming and then lying to his people about it for months. Soon we will see demands that Trump step down and let somebody who actually knows how to run a government replace him. It can’t come fast enough.

Governor Gavin Newsom has been doing a knock up job providing straight dope information for the West Coast. His daily afternoon briefings are really good.

I haven't looked around because it's carried on all the local TV stations.

Newsom was speaking the other day, then we hear the orange anus was scheduled to speak at the same time. NPR, to their credit, announced they WOULD NOT interrupt the Governor's talk for the buffoon. Proof positive how important the governor's messages have been.

Again, I have no clue. He just magically appears on the television in the afternoon. (between 4 and 6 PM PST would be my best guess).

6. Newsom calms me down

I know I live in a crazy expensive state but I am so happy to have a State Government that I trust! We are in the area with the shelter in place. It's challenging but the right decision!

The orange anus is all, "Me, me, me", while Newsoms calming demeanor is "Us and we".

calm, we're all in this together. And yes, you are right, Newsom has been doing a great job and so has Inslee. Many others- I dont remember them all but I have been so impressed with our Dem governors.

I'm a Californian so I'm not plugged directly into the happenings in Washington State, but Jay Inslee gets high marks in my book for pushing the orange anus' buttons.

Cuomo, Newsom and governors across the country are doing just that. They've stepped up because we're getting absolutely no leadership from this administration. None. They're spending more time running in circles trying to cover their arses.

Heard today that Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, a large teaching hospital over in NH, is almost out of masks, gowns and face shields. Sewing circles in VT and NH have offered their services if they can get materials and patterns. In 21st century America, that is unbelievable. Brought to you by Donnie The Unready.

11. Gov Inslee as well. There are many Governors who are doing a much

better job than Trump without the resources or help from the Federal Government. Trump is useless except for getting his face time before the cameras and patting himself on the back.

Not to take anything away from Cuomo.

New York is in deep right now and also NewYork being all that it is does command extra international attention. However there are other Governors and Metro leaders doing the same.

20. Very very wise observation

Parties out of power traditionally have 'pretenders' to the throne. They surround themselves with all the trappings - airplace, limousines, suits, podiums .... Cuomo is seizing an opportunity. It's deft for sure. It will keep Joe's image fresh for the campaign, and showcase real governance and intellect against Trump's daily mash. Donnie can't win this game. He doesn't even know what's happening.
