One Dow stock is seeing its best month in years as markets crumble

WAL-FKNG-MART

“In 1929 during the Great Depression, we had a run on the bank. In the 2020 coronavirus, we have a run on the grocery store and Walmart has about 50% of the groceries sold throughout the country,” John Petrides, portfolio manager at Tocqueville Asset Management, told CNBC’s “Trading Nation” on Wednesday.

I prefer my local Publix...right at the open.

heck, even the Super Target near me only had about 25 people in line at open this morning. I feel more comfortable with fewer people around.

Any food shopping except where I live is 50 miles away. On 2 lane roads.

Wal-Mart had ready made monopoly by building in the rural South in the first place.

The sudden upsurge has been panic buying so these revenues aren't sustainable.
Second, if the economy takes the huge hit probable, people will spend bare minimum, even on food.
And for the millions where the Walmart is not close to the closest store, the price delta won't be worth the gas burned.
Not sure how this seems like a sound prediction. Maybe, but it's far from certain.
