We're taking the pledge

In order to support our favorite restaurants we are ordering take out or delivery every night.

It is safe, will mean fewer trips to the grocery store, and of course is delicious. Consider this our sacrifice (sarcasm) for our country and the restaurants we love.

The ones we have used so far have no contact deliveries or pick up. Be sure to tip.

Do the same if you can.

My fear is the smaller restaurants we close as this gets worse and we won't have this option and many will never reopen.

4. I appreciate your passion, however, how do you know it is safe?

I am not ordering anything from anywhere but my home because I do not know who is handling my food. Paranoid? Yes. But these times demand paranoia.

cooked food is safe. The only concern is someone touching the food but that happens in the grocery store too. I think it is as safe as grocery shopping.

is this safer only because you are not in a group in the restaurant? And assumption is chef is using proper protocols?

I live way out in the country - no deliveries here. We are getting ready for a big journey out tomorrow to a local whole foods type (not chain) store. We are over 60 and there is a shelter in place order for us, but I assume grocery shopping (and gas) is OK. I plan to drop a wad there ($$$).

So scary! Jesus! Insane. Who knew dystopia would look like this? Well, I guess a lot of creative types / authors and others did.

I just KNOW if Obama or Biden was in - even though it wouldn't stop the virus, there would be sufficient testing, preparation, information sharing.

My governor (Inslee) has created an official website for covid 19. I will try to get my info there.

Thanks for your great suggestion.

6. That's better than buying gift cards in support as some are suggesting.

Many of these smaller businesses unfortunately won't survive, and those cards will be worthless in a heartbeat.

They need the business and we need the food.

The longer I can keep from using my frozen and canned stock piles, the longer I can ride this out.

That's our thinking too. Help the restaurants as we can while extending the home supply. No one knows how this situation is going to pan out.

on edit: meant as a reply to #7 above.
