(16,743 posts)through intense de-con or you just keep passing it. Sorta like airlines that are currently doing no screening and flying continuously. Not enough people are taking this seriously. As Rachel pointed out last night, seven (7) states have zero restrictions. We're screwed when that happens.

(3,321 posts)The orange dipshit, well, we can see his capabilities - nonexistent. To anyone considering not supporting the next Democratic nominee, not voting for that nominee, you can expect another 4 years of this disaster. I hope your purity is worth your life. It may well be your life you are giving in trade.

(4,690 posts)without proper protective equipment. We're just at the beginning. If they're not protected many will get sick and some will die. We have to protect our front line workers so they'll still be there in the near future when huge numbers of people fall ill.

As hospital supplies have dwindled, the vice president has called on construction companies to donate masks, the surgeon general has urged the public to stop buying them, and experts have warned that, the more doctors and nurses who get sick, the greater strain on a system already stretched thin.
Now, doctors, nurses and others are rallying on social media with the hashtag #GetMePPE, referring to personal protective equipment like masks, gowns and face shields, to put pressure on elected leaders to get them more gear to guard against infection. Some suggested that members of the public reach out to a nearby hospital if they had masks or other medical equipment to donate.

Health care workers across the country tell STAT they are grappling with new hospital restrictions on personal protective equipment like masks, which are in short supply at some hospitals at a time when the need for it is climbing. Those shortages are fueling fear and frustration among medical staffers who are worried about how they will protect themselves, their patients, and their own families.
I dont have any confidence my hospital will be able to protect me. Which is not necessarily their fault; they cant get the gear, said Megan Sims, a critical care nurse who works in the emergency room of a Minnesota hospital.
