Thank goodness that we have DU to express our frustration about what a fine mess Donny Dimwit has gotten us in. I review DU comments several times da day. Helps keep me sane.

Stay safe

Have to ask,” To whom are you referring!” The picture flashed right before my eyes.

I have to wonder how he feels knowing that is how most see him, even his supporters could not miss the gluttony and greed.

Yes I am a Buddhist and pay homage to the Dalai Lama. I often ask myself if the DL were to observe Trump, what would he see? Whatever that is, it's what I would like to see to keep hatred out of my mind. Things appear to us, the way we label them. I see Trump as a master's class in ethical morality. Or rather, a perfect example of the exact opposite of the very basics of ethical behavior.

I'm hoping that when we get mostly on the other side of this pandemic, and there is a readily-available vaccine -- 2, 3, 5 years from now -- that the majority of us will have had some realizations about how we are all connected. That it is in our own self interest to look out for one another. That this pandemic was a warm-up exercise for the horrors that await us, if we don't get our act together about climate change. That we need to fix our gov, so that it works for everyone -- not just the wealthy.

Meanwhile I do my best to help people, who are afflicted with anger and hatred to calm down. We are much more able to deal with difficulties, when we are calm and focused on what needs to be done. Trust me. I have survived an earthquake, 3 hurricanes, a tornado that destroyed my house and both barns, heart disease, and breast cancer.

Who attends a Church that teaches, “ Following in the footsteps of Jesus,” we are to love our neighbor, take care of them. I am finding it harder every day to do that.

When I have needed help I often read the 37TH Psalm. Many see that as getting even, I do not! I see it as a promise that never fails.” The wicked will spread like the Green Bay tree, but do not fret, they will be brought down!” Not by me.

6. If you have a daily practice

you might include the aspiration to be done with anger and hatred forever, and to radiate light and love. Patience is the antidote to anger. As St Paul said, patience in tribulation. My practice includes cultivating equanimity and loving kindness. We cannot change other people. We can only train our own minds and become better people ourselves.

When Buddha became enlightened, he did not say "Life is great, and we're all going to have such a good time." Nope, the first thing that he said was, "There is suffering." By seeing the suffering of others, we should be filled with the desire to be of benefit to them.

I don't think that Trump much experiences concern for the suffering of others. He's a malignant narccisist. Maybe when he's dead, some pathologist will slice up his brain and find lesions or whatever. Buddhism also has hells. A burning hell, and a freezing hell. Trump's day is coming, I assure you. It will not be pretty for him. Meanwhile, I cultivate my own garden.

That I spent many fruitless hours on. Am still amazed at the hate filled right who blame everyone but me. Happy to be back here.
