Let's find out what she knew when she knew it.
Let's find out exactly what she sold (and what she didn't).
And finally, one things for damn sure, she wasn't downplaying the virus to her constituents like Burr and his buddies. The Democrats have been calling for Trump and the Republicans to take this seriously while the GOP kept its mouths shut or echoed the Democratic Hoax bullshit.
So, please, knock the shit off on calling for her resignation.

Burr's trade looks REALLY shady damn near illegal seeing what he was saying in the recording.

(22,671 posts)Nada. If anything, Feinstein should be promoted & revered. After all, that's what the GOP is going to do to Burr and others.
Fire with fire. We need dems.

(320 posts)Absolutely not. She should be investigated, as the Republicans should also. If she is culpable, she goes. Same for the Republicans.

Demand resignation of Republicans with full-throat howls and bitter denunciation and ignore or laugh at any whimpering 'whataboutism' charging hypocrisy.
DO NOT DO THE ENEMY'S WORK FOR HIM!!!
Righteous posturing is what will sap our strength and increase theirs. This is not a game where purity counts.

(34,086 posts)HER trusts are in a blind trust. She does not control purchases or sales and, as far as I know, there were no relevant sales of her assets by the trustee.
HIS sales have to be reported to congress, which she did. She does not control his sales of his personal investments. She didn't attend the meeting at which the information was disclosed, and no semi-intelligent investor would sell off shares of a biotech company on news of a coming pandemic.

It's not that these republicans sold stock, it's that they sold their stock while lying to the American public about how much of a big deal this was going to be.

(31,869 posts)It's bullshit. And she should NOT step down, resign - anything. I don't care who did what to Franken and when -
Have we NOT learned a lesson from that?
The People of California Reserve the right to vote her out, or keep her in. Duncan Hunter got to stay until proven guilty in a court of law - right?
So does she.

During my Senate career Ive held all assets in a blind trust of which I have no control. Reports that I sold any assets are incorrect, as are reports that I was at a January 24 briefing on coronavirus, which I was unable to attend.
Under Senate rules I report my husband's financial transactions. I have no input into his decisions. My husband in January and February sold shares of a cancer therapy company. This company is unrelated to any work on the coronavirus and the sale was unrelated to the situation.
They also lost money on the sale.

Blue_true
(31,261 posts)She has to explain what happened. But one possibility is that she had ordered her financial advisers to sell any stock that might profit from a national emergency that she would be part of dealing with - that is the only reason why a person as rich as she is would have a potentially valuable stock sold near a low.
