Why is Obama skipping more than half of his daily intelligence meetings?
By Marc A. Thiessen, Monday, September 10, 10:41 AM
President Obama is touting his foreign policy experience on the campaign trail, but startling new statistics suggest that national security has not necessarily been the personal priority the president makes it out to be. It turns out that more than half the time, the commander in chief does not attend his daily intelligence meeting.

(23,720 posts)I'm sure if there is something that needs his immediate attention, someone would let him know. Heck, bush was at his and still did nothing.

(4,243 posts)I found this part particularly interesting...
"While the Bush records are not yet available electronically for analysis, officials tell me the former president held his intelligence meeting six days a week, no exceptions usually with the vice president, the White House chief of staff, the national security adviser, the director of National Intelligence, or their deputies, and CIA briefers in attendance."
Amazing how the bush* records are not yet available electronically for analysis, but just trust us that officials say ...yada yada yada, but we know for a fact that President Obama skips his meetings. Bullfu**ing shit!
And how the hell did bush* have meetings with all of these top intelligence officials when he was on God Damned vacation most of the time! I don't recall seeing the vice president, the White House chief of staff, the national security adviser, the director of National Intelligence, or their deputies, and CIA briefers all milling about the pig farm 6 days a fu**ing week when bush* was clearing brush in Crawford, TX!
Dammit! This is the kind of propaganda that pisses me off!

(4,243 posts)I have half a notion to send the guy an email telling him what an extraordinary asscarrot he is, but I doubt he'll read it.
Articles like this are the exact reason I quit reading "newspapers" and watching tv. I'm usually pretty easy to get along with, but when a guy like this insults my intelligence, IT'S ON!!

Dumbya may have showed up for all those meetings, but what good did it do him?

(10,718 posts)That's from the article. And one would assume then that if there was nothing out of the ordinary, nothing requiring investigation or elaboration, and nothing that the people in charge couldn't handle, that the president could then attend to other duties. I think you can infer how seriously the job is taken by how well the job is done - which is just fine, I think.
As far as other presidents, I can imagine bush cracking jokes and making faces during the PDB's, as the business of the day passed in one ear and out the other. I can imagine Reagan snoozing away, and daydreaming about his days as a lifeguard...
