There is a reason Romney cannot keep the focus on the Economy

It isn't merely that he's a bad campaigner.

He cannot keep the focus on the economy because he has nothing to say about the economy.

Nothing.

I have seen this man interviewed a bunch of times since the primaries ended, and I have yet to hear him say anything about the economy except that it sucks.

Oh, and that he "knows how to create jobs."

He has no plan whatsoever to create a single job, except for himself. That's not just snark. He really doesn't. I don't think he has a single proposal that the CBO would score as adding a job to the US economy. (His tax cut plan cannot be scored because he has intentionally witheld key information to prevent it being scorable.)

And whatever plans he may have for the economy in general he cannot talk about them. If he ever actually said whatever it is he thinks about the economy the interviewer might throw a drink at him. People would pass out from horror.

So his exasperation that reporters keep asking him non-economic questions is a joke. They do ask economic questions, and he gives exactly the same answer. The economy sucks. And after two or three questions the interviewer knows there is no point soliciting the same non-answer five or six more times.

Reporters followed him around during that disaster but he gave them no access. Pretty tacky, and I knew at the time that they wouldn't forget it.

Mitt called only on the foreign reporters that were there and none of the American reporters.

That is a no no - never done before.

Just like Romney's income tax records, they are being coy about their economic plans. They are not getting by with it.
