In memory of my friend who died in the Twin Towers.

"Then Richard Blood, 36, an Aon insurance broker, walked into the meeting and told the group there had been an explosion in the building next door and everyone had to leave. Parisi bolted from the room before he finished speaking.

I hope I don't get in trouble, she thought as she ran to the fire stairs in her high heels.

The insurance executives grumbled. Many had come from out of town to hear Wieman pitch them on writing insurance for Pfizer, the pharmaceutical maker. But Blood was politely persistent. " 'I'm the fire marshal for the floor. I can't go until you go, and I want to go. So come on, everybody,' " Dittmar recalls him saying. "And he said it with a smile."

I think we all try to pause when we look at each face, and think about how each person was beloved by families and friends out there, and how each person had their own story and history... but while we try to appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and the tragedy of each individual death, it must be even more deeply, deeply sad for those of you who knew a person who died.

for you and for his friends and loved ones.

If Bush had not ignored all the warnings about the imminent attacks, your friend may not have died that day. If Bush had just once used the power of his office to warn us, the attacks probably would have never happened. But if somehow the attacks did, at least your friend and others there would have known that the incident was an attack and acted accordingly.

died that day had premonitions. They planned ahead, mentioned they wouldn't survive that day, left things behind for family. It makes you wonder.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Do you tire of the attention on nine eleven? I hear a lot of New Yorkers and surrounding area surviving families do.
