Our supply line workers need protection and testing -- assembly lines, packers, forklift operators, pickers, truckers, shelf stockers, clerks, etc.
This administration had over 2 months to get ready and it failed. GOPers exacerbated the carnage for temporary political ratings.

(131,041 posts)were expected to discuss the breakthrough on the Senate floor shortly, after a long day of talks with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Ueland and others. . .
The legislation, unprecedented in its size and scope, aims to flood the economy with capital by sending $1,200 checks to many Americans, creating a $367 billion loan program for small businesses, and setting up a $500 billion fund for industries, cities and states.
Other provisions include a massive boost to unemployment insurance, $150 billion for state and local stimulus funds and $130 billion for hospitals, among numerous other provisions. . .
The Senate bill would direct payments of $1,200 to most American adults and $500 to most children, create a $500 billion lending program for companies, states, and cities, and extend an additional $367 billion to help small companies deal with payroll problems. It would bolster the unemployment insurance system and pump $150 billion into U.S. hospitals. The bill more than doubled in size in just a few days.

Which will be dependent on on your last tax filings. I'm legit, so I'm set.

My social distancing is all social responsibility, and out of pocket. I'm still proud to be doing it.

(5,271 posts)Jared Bernstein, former govt official said yesterday on MSNBC that seniors and others of low income who don't owe federal tax should file a return to be sure they are included. Previous reports said that low income individuals would get $600 instead of $1200, but that may have been adjusted upward in final bill, but reports indicated the payments are based on tax returns for 2018 and 2019.

(53,342 posts)Most adults would receive direct payments of $1,200, while children would see $500 checks. Hospitals would receive some $150 billion under the deal and small businesses would get $367 billion in aid.
...
Mnuchin would be able to allocate some of the funds to companies damaged by the shutdown of the economy.
He agreed to Democratic demands for more transparency. The negotiators agreed to a five-person panel to oversee the lending and an independent inspector general.
The measure also includes a major boost to unemployment insurance, allowing workers who are furloughed but not laid off to be paid their regular salaries for up to four months.
The measure includes $367 billion in loans for small businesses. If the companies dont make any changes to payroll, these loans will be forgiven.
This article is vague in essence. The first sentence says direct deposits for all Americans. Other articles say only for those who filed taxes in 2018, 2019.
The linked article states "Deal reached after midnight includes direct payments to most Americans"
So we have ALL and MOST.

(53,342 posts)The payments would decrease for those making more than $75,000, with an income cap of $99,000 per individual or $198,000 for couples.
The bill is also expected to include roughly $100 billion in assistance for hospitals; $350 billion in assistance to small businesses; $500 billion in aid for corporations, including airline companies and cruise lines, that have been hurt by the outbreak; and about $150 billion for state and local stimulus funds.
Unemployment insurance would also be significantly bolstered to increase payments and extend the benefit to those who typically do not qualify, such as gig economy workers, furloughed employees and freelancers.
Text of the bill isnt known yet. Well get details later today
