(54,448 posts)5. 78--the magic number for New York and L.A. as the story goes........
As the legend would have it:
In the summer, in New York City, it is 100 degrees. In L.A. it is 78.
In the winter, in New York City, it is 20 degrees. In L.A. it is 78.
In New York there are 2 million interesting people. In L.A. there are 78.
Please note three things:
1.) I have never lived in either place, so I have no first hand knowledge
2.) My elder daughter has lived in both places, and swears this is true
3.) Of the 78 interesting people in L.A., ALL L.A. people who post on DU are among them!
