a blow out to a dead heat and that is better than nothing. It is, however, sickening that so many people in MO are willing to overlook his comments.

Obama needed every single Democrat because NO Republican - even people like Snowe, Collins and Hatch who supported similar bills earlier in their career were ultimately not winnable.

than the situation that existed before it was passed.

Have you looked at what it has done?
- It has improved Medicare for those on it while keeping it funded for an additional 8 years.

- It has lowered the cost of insurance plans by capping the rate of growth. This year the average increase was about 4% vs 97% since 2002. http://www.jsonline.com/business/cost-of-health-benefits-rose-4-for-family-coverage-j86qoes-169308696.html This affects anyone with insurance.

- The % of premiums that go to actual medical bills has to be at least 80% for small company plans and 85% for bigger ones. MANY refund checks went out.

- If you have a pre-existing condition you are can get insurance on the exchange

- kids can be on parents' plans until they turn 26.

There are many other benefits, why do you hate it? (I assume that as you are from a red state, it is not because a singlepayer plan would be far better and more efficient.

Despised by the right, unsatisfactory to the left, she is a blue dog who until Akin fucked up was going to lose badly.

Now she is up by a point, her campaign is revitalized and reenergized. Meanwhile, Akin is floundering. His ad buys got pulled due to lack of money, and while the rabid right wing in the state still supports him, the more sane amongst us are going to vote for Claire.

It is going to be a close race, but Claire will win it.

She is going to lose. The only reason I will vote for her is I despise Todd Akin. I have been voting for 42 years once I left a ballot empty would not vote for Warren Hearnes. My plan was to leave ballot empty by McCaskill's name but Akin changed that plan for me. She has alienated to varying degrees every Democrat I know.

If Akin wins, maybe Republicans will celebrate by raping each other in the Senate. Republicanism is an ongoing, never-ending celebration of sickness.
