Suppose 9/11 Happened During President Gore's First Term

I know it's a leap, because it would assume that Gore and his administration would have been so incompetent as to have made all the same mistakes the Chimp Administration did (and I've said for years that if Gore had been in the White House, 9/11 would have never happened), but just suppose it still happened.

What do you think the Republicans would be saying about it right now? Do you think they'd be praising President Gore for keeping us safe? Do you think they'd want it declared a National Holiday? Do you think there'd be slobbering media coverage of the event like there will be ALL DAY today?

And more importantly, do you think President Gore would have gotten a SECOND TERM in office after allowing a tragedy like that to happen? No way. We'd be recovering from a President McCain administration right now, absolutely no doubt in my mind.

Highly unlikely he would have ignored his namesake commission's findings and fail to implement suggestions/solutions therein.

it wouldn't have happened. every airport would have been on high alert and the administration would have actually listened to countries like germany, giving a heads up. And, also, the administration would have listened to their own terrorist task force and the FBI. Gore wouldn't have read the august PDB report and basically shrug it off.

even flew down to Crawford for the occasion to brief the President. The White House web site had a very interesting quotation from Dubya the very next day about his "very important meeting" that "went on for longer than any other" he had attended since taking office. What do you suppose the President was talking about with the Director of CIA, the heads of the Joint Chiefs of staff, the National Security Advisor, the Secretary of Defense and a number of others? What else happened at that time in late August 2001 to spark this meeting?

For some answers and information you've probably never heard from the MSM, please see: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/05/07/332122/-THEY-KNEW-Tenet-s-Book-Reveals-9-11-Perjury

the press the next day while cutting brush. Also, Tenet -- after perjuring himself before the 9/11 Commission in an awkward attempt to keep his late August meeting with Bush secret -- finally admitted in his autobiography, Center of the Storm, that he flew to Crawford to personally follow-up with Bush about the 08/06 PDB.

So, there we have it. Only, nobody involved is talking about what was actually said in Crawford during that work from home day, because nobody has convened a federal grand jury.
