I saw the first plane hit! no, wait, I was told about the first plane hitting!

No, wait! ...and so it goes.

It seems the President of the United States and Commander in Chief of its armed forces cannot remember how he first learned of the WTC attacks...

I was sitting outside the classroom...waiting to go in...and I saw an airplane hit the tower...the TV was obviously on...I used to fly myself and I said 'There's one terrible pilot.’

I had been notified that a plane had hit the world trade center.

Which is it? No one ever asked him to explain the discrepancies Now we know they had repeated warnings but did nothing. And this from DemocracyNow!:

Newly disclosed documents from before the 9/11 attacks have provided further evidence the Bush administration ignored repeated warnings about Osama bin Laden’s plans to attack the United States. Writing in the New York Times, journalist and author Kurt Eichenwald reports the Bush administration dismissed a number of warnings of an al Qaeda attack in the United States beginning in the spring of 2001, instead focusing on Saddam Hussein. In one assessment, Eichenwald writes, "The CIA all but pleaded with the White House to accept that the danger from Bin Laden was real." Some counter-terrorism officials were so dismayed with the administration’s response that they discussed seeking a transfer so that others would be blamed when the attack on the United States eventually took place. The suggestion was dismissed because there would not be enough time to train replacements.

A misspeak shouldn't be the basis of a conspiracy theory.

However, a misspeak like this should be the basis of proving how incompetent they were.

He was either speaking before an audience or in an interview for a documentary and he was giving his account of how he learned about the WTC attacks. Hardly a "misspoke."

Maybe our crack media reporters will ask him which one is "real?" Maybe he'd like to set the record straight? I doubt it.

6. No, *HE* said he saw the first plane hit on TV!

Watch the video! I even noted the time his statement appears.

ASK HIM what he meant when he said he was waiting to go into the classroom and the television was "obviously on." ASK HIM about the TV! I don't know if it was CCTV or not; I wasn't there. But HE was and HE made the statement.

That was only a few months after the attacks. Then he changes his story for the National Geographic interview.

These aren't "gaffs" uttered in the heat-of-the-moment on some contrive news talkshow. These are statements for history...and they don't jive!

Why?

I have always wondered why he wasn't called out on this. Did he watch it on T.V., did he get word from an aide while reading My Pet Goat to an elementary school class or did he come up with that great one liner about the pilot's skills? They can't all be true and lying about something like this is just plain creepy.

George, I've decided, was rather clueless all along.
