Healing is a natural part of any injury. Whether it be mental, or physical, healing needs to happen.
Each year at this time, we apparently have to go through the ripping-off of the scab of 9/11, freshening up the mental wound, reminding us all to never forget.
But healing is partially about forgetting, about not constantly ruminating, especially mental healing. When I think of bad events in my life, and I've had a few, it puts me right back into the place, often bringing back a surprising amount of anger.
Do we have to do this same thing every year, even to the point of them playing constant coverage of the day of 9/11 on MSNBC? I'm not sure if they are doing a similar thing on other networks, and we've all got massive availability of information on this subject if we "want" to seek it.
I don't mean to cheapen the event, but come on media, let it heal. No wonder half the country are screaming meanie maniacs, with our corporate media.

This morning I showed the kids a brief clip of a History channel doc (which I figured was the least 'charged') so they could see what really happened as far as the crashes. I asked them if they thought it looked like a movie, they said no, thank goodness.

(25,253 posts)as we watch it again we start picking away at the statements made by the people in charge and the inconsistencies of the event?
Maybe they are trying to send the American People a message. Maybe they want to keep this fresh in our minds so that we never let up on BushCo and their negligence in letting this happen or maybe making it happen.

We need to remember. And we need to remember who let it happen. Those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it.
