RedState.com to ban users quoting FACT CHECKERS (not snark, these idiots really mean it)

Really? Doesn't this sum up all of modern conservativism?
When all the facts are against you, blame the fact-checkers. . .

So check out this post by Conservative RedState.com front pager streiff. It is just pathetic.

Quote a FactChecker Earn a Ban
In the past we’ve had a policy of banning people who argue in bad faith. As Politifact, and the whole menagerie of “fact checking” organizations have demonstrated themselves to be slavishly attached to the Administration’s nether regions I will consider quoting any of them, in a non-ironic way, as being evidence of arguing in bad faith and worthy of a ban.

What do you think?

I think you just divorced reality.
Mitt Romney created 100 million jobs as Gov of Massachusetts. Disagree? YOU'RE BANNED!

It's like open bar for liars. A place where lies and falsehoods can never be proven false. And CNN pays the founder of RedState.com Erick Erickson for his "commentary", the same guy who will now ban you from his website if you quote fact-checkers at him. I guess when CNN introduces Erickson they will have to ad a caveat to his byline (Founder of RedState.com, statements made at RedState.com are not intended to be a factual statement.)

Who woke up on 9/11 today and decided the whole problem with this country is the fact checkers? If it wasn't for the American public's insistence on arithmetic, science and knowing recent history it would be really good news for John McCain Mitt Romney. Basically admitting that you can't win a debate unless the public is as ignorant as possible should be a bad thing, shouldn't it?

Face it, this is what a small tent getting smaller looks like. A small tent that is about to get demoralized in the upcoming Presidential election. Reality doesn't just have a liberal bias, reality is actually a liberal conspiracy. And don't believe any non partisan fact-checking organizations who say otherwise, they are clearly in the tank for reality.

This is all a person with a brain needs to know about Right Wingers. So all the folks there who are happy about this new arrangement admit they are brainless automatons unswayed by reality because it follows a path they hate. Tolerance, good will and organizing for real outcomes are for liberals, not chumps.

They will sink in their own manure.

so don't go there with the truth when they are content with lying about things to feel better cause they'll ban you for trying to prove they aren't living in the real world.

I'm almost tempted to join that site and post lies and fantasy in hopes of getting someone banned for pointing out I'm making stuff up.

Here's a potential post:

In the 80's Mitt Romney fought the Russians in Afghanistan by funding the rebels which is why he knows how dangerous the Soviets really are.

Ronald Reagan awarded him the Presidential medal of Freedom when the Soviets pulled out.

for them, at least in the short term.

Unfortunately, the cold, hard facts have a way of intruding all by themselves, and the net result for any of the folks who bought that alternative reality is increasingly unbearable cognitive dissonance. They tend to freak out over nothing, in other words, because of the cumulative effect of all they're trying to exclude from their lives jumping up in their faces and reminding them it's still there.

That's why we're going to see more of them going postal in the coming years. Cognitive dissonance is an exquisitely painful thing to experience, as evidenced by how we feel when we are treated to some right wing gasbag on TV sonorously intoning Republican boilerplate we know to be utterly false.

The next few years will be interesting, to say the very least. Whether or not we end up with a Canadian style restriction on the first amendment for news broadcasters because of it is anyone's guess. My own guess is that news broadcasts will be the redhaired stepchild of media, the thing that's on for an hour in the evening that no one watches any more, victims of their own uselessness.

Bishop Willard's only chance is to get an overwhelming number of angry white people to vote for him. He's gonna use every lie and dogwhistle possible to amp up the fear and hate to get those people to the polls (especially in Swing states). He has to lie to make his "promises" jive and he needs enablers to "verify" those lies. Yep...they don't want fact checkers and if you dare to get into a "debate" with a wingnut they'll poo poo any source you throw at 'em...even Faux. This is bloodsport...win at all costs and one that gets tossed away the quickest when you're a rushpublican is the truth.

Methinks the lying has already caught up with the Bishop and Pinocchio...a reason they didn't get a bump out of their convention and are now starting to fall in polls and popularity. And their answer? More lies! These last 50some days are gonna be brutal...

tell me it's an Onion article. If not, the right is way more unhinged than I thought.

Can I send the link to my fox"news" non-watching, but frequently quoting, right-wing conservative friend? He will agree with redstate's "fact-checkers are biased" position; but I'm gonna love arguing, "shoot the messager, rather than disprove the facts."

I got slammed for saying that the Rev Moon's true legacy is not the Unification Church, which is unlikely to survive long after his death, but in the way that cult brainwashing techniques have been incorporated into mainstream political discourse. Like Moonies, baggers regard any information that does not come from cult-approved sources as tainted. Whilst some skepticism about fact checkers is warranted (many of them are afraid to state the obvious truth that Republicans lie way more than Democrats, for fear of being called "partisan&quot , an outright ban on quoting them shows how far into the bunker they have retreated.

Faith, Certainty and the Presidency of George W. Bush

By RON SUSKIND

Published: October 17, 2004
...
In the summer of 2002, after I had written an article in Esquire that the White House didn't like about Bush's former communications director, Karen Hughes, I had a meeting with a senior adviser to Bush. He expressed the White House's displeasure, and then he told me something that at the time I didn't fully comprehend -- but which I now believe gets to the very heart of the Bush presidency.

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

It goes back to the old "Those who win write history".

In their version of reality Bush was a hero that freed 20 million people and kept America safe. WMDs were found in Iraq and McCain was the victim of a conspiracy by liberal (Jewish) bankers who crashed the economy prior to the election which was still stolen by an unqualified black guy with the help of ACORN who signed up dead people and with an army of militant New Black Panthers who ran off white people who were trying to vote. The housing crisis was the result of a liberal experiment in social engineering by forced integration which allowed blacks and Mexicans to buy homes in white suburbs and when they couldn't afford the payments and got kicked out it drove down the value of white people's homes. The Democrats are out to destroy the concept of working for a living by making America a welfare state which makes sure they get votes as people vote for the party that keeps the gravy train of free money coming to them.

Anyone who questions ANY of this nonsense is considered to be an uninformed idiot or a threat to America.
