Lets pretend 9-11 & the war in Afghanistan never happened.
Americans prefer to pretend a lot, by pretending there's no war raging in Afghanistan we save ourselves a lot of uneccessary grief and bad memories. Like with the terror attacks in NYC, its best to pretend they never happened at all. Lets all just pretend a thing isn't happening or didn't happen, just to simplify things.
Americans pretended bush jr. wasn't an alcoholic, coke snorting draft dodger, and a total idiot for 8 years. Americans pretended the bush elections weren't stolen, and then pretended that Afghanistan was the nation that attacked us and we invaded it, and then they pretended to have accomplished the mission, and pretended to have won the war, they even pretended that Bin Laden never existed.
They want our children to pretend too, like there is no such thing as evolution. They want women to pretend that you can't get pregnant if you're raped. The republicans want us to pretend that same sex couples can't really be in love or married happily ever after.
We pretend that the war in Afghanistan is just, and good, and purposeful, and it makes us safe here at home. Lets not show it on the news and pretend is simply isn't happening, lets pretend like we've always been at war there, because they hate our freedoms.
Lets pretend 9-11 never happened, and lets pretend the war attached to it never happened, and pretend all those soldiers didn't really die, for nothing, and all those innocent people didn't die, by the thousands, for nothing.
Lets also pretend there's no global warming, and pretend that the nation is financially sound and stable and lets pretend all of our troubles away.
Nobody wants to talk about 9-11, and nobody wants to talk about the war in Afghanistan because if you do, aloud, it ruins the party.
