"SNIP.....
Transcript via CNNs State Of The Union:
PELOSI: What the president his denial at the beginning was deadly. His delaying of getting equipment to where it continues his delay in getting equipment to where its needed is deadly.
And now I think the best thing would be to do is to prevent more loss of life, rather than open things up, so that because we just dont know. We have to have testing, testing, testing thats what we said from the start before we can evaluate what the nature of it is in some of these other regions as well.
I dont know what the purpose of that is. I dont know what the scientists are saying to him. I dont know what the scientists said to him. When did this president know about this and what did he know? What did he know and when did he know it?

(16,937 posts)REPUBLICAN Senator Howard Baker (TN) asked: "What did the President know and when did he know it?" (Senate hearings, 1973).
Yep! Same deal - what did IQ45 know (hmmm, maybe we should bring in the "honorable" Senator Burr from North Carolina) - and when did he know it?
SO FU*KING MANY TIMES we've been looking for the smoking gun..............
Could this be it?
Yes, I know, short of a "Big Mac" heart attack - ain't nothing happening before election day - but we can keep the pressure on, the truth out in front, and GET OUT THE VOTE!
(just a late thought: What irony if COVID-19 was transmitted from Mar-A-Lago and actually took him down... )

It still looks like, however, Trump is just going to run out the clock until November, which makes getting rid of him in November a moral imperative, if not a matter of our own survival.

(8,200 posts)We know that his initial reaction was to minimize the threat. His initial response has been well recorded. But, what was he told and when? He keeps saying that he inherited a broken system. I would like that to be examined. We know that he disbanded the group that was formed by the Obama administration to evaluate such potential out breaks we are experiencing. What affect did that have? Regardless after this ass been hopefully replaced in 2020 election, we will need to have an in-depth study to determine just what stockpiles must be maintained to address this type of disaster and the identification of contingent plans for massive emergency manufacturing capabilities. I would think with the expertise that is available in this nation that we have done a less than adequate job in planning and having the procedures in place to address such disasters. Such plans could have been ready at the outset to notify manufacturers to immediately put into contingency plans to produce what was required on an emergency basis.
Where I fault Trump is his lack of understanding just how serious that situation could be come and how quickly it could escalate. His sole concern was how it was going to affect the stock market and how it would effect his reelection. He is still in a denial mode and he trying to convey that he has no responsibility for the situation when it was obvious that it was a serious threat that he allowed to develop by his failure to act.
