Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, who hosts a primetime show on Current TV, told her network colleague Joy Behar she was "certainly shocked" by the reaction her speech received at the Democratic National Convention. "It was like a wave to ride. It was very fun," Granholm said.
Granholm delivered a fiery defense of the auto industry bailout during her appearance at the convention.

(776 posts)No white house for her, but she is a Lawyer & expressed interest in the Supreme Court.
Her dressing down Alito, Thomas & Scalia would be a site to see.
She also said she would not like the house/senate.

(33,688 posts)She was my first "boss" in the legal profession. She was the Editor In Chief of the Harvard Civil Liberties/Civil Rights Law Review when I was a first-year student and staffer. She was a very good boss and a neat person even then.
And man, did she tear it up at the DNC!!

She also has a good sense of humor, John Fugalsang & Cenk & Eliot had her laffing out loud quite frequently.

(111,276 posts)and this is what we need more of, although the ladies who lunch will tut tut about it through their pursed lips as they dab them with a napkin so as not to disturb the lipstick.
Her show on Current TV is good and getting better. However, if she ever gets sick of broadcasting, I'm sure public office will be hers again.

(50,365 posts)I loved her passion, her engaging way of taking it to Romney and the repubs, her humor, the way she gave the number of auto jobs saved AND created since the auto rescue, doing it State by State, it was very powerful. I loved every bit of it.

(26,268 posts)She was a great Attorney General, for Michigan. I'd love to see her on the SCOTUS. Scalia would probably blow a gasket, and then President Obama could appoint ANOTHER to the court.

It is one of my FAVORITE SPEECHES of the night. I retired from Ford Motor Company in 2002. I wasn't in the
plant, so I wasn't Union...I was in the sales division. Thus, they stuck it to us with getting the benefits until our
death...but I love to see Ford and the other automobile companies succeed.
SHE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

(5,342 posts)I was in the area opened up for a viewing party for people who couldn't get into the Stadium 'real' convention when the venue was changed.
She caught our attention from the beginning and cheering started early on and eventually reached a level that was roof-RAISING!! It was awesome to feel; by the time she said that Romney gave his cars the elevator and the employees the shaft it was over, we were on our feet and screaming a scream I still feel!!
It was magnificent.
