You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink...

Likewise, you can inform the voters, give them the facts, state the possible consequences, warn them, scare them, educate them, but in the final analysis, you cannot make them vote. That is up to each individual citizen.

If people cannot form their own conclusions from the history of the last 12 years, but instead, must rely on people like Limbaugh, Hannity, Boehner, and Coulter for their information, then there is not much anyone can do. It is depressing as hell to think that the future of our nation may be in the hands of these people.

It is easy to reach a point of "burn out" and apathy but we cannot surrender to ignorance and arrogance. We must continue to slog along and hope, and hope is all that is left with some of us, that America will make the right decision? After 8 years of George W Bush, there is no reason for confidence in the American people. They have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that they are gullible and ignorant to the most simple and basic truths.

This election may show that money can obliterate the truth. Fact-checks are of no concern if a lie can be repeated over and over to the masses that do not have the time or the inclination to learn the truth. Our nation and our democracy is under a severe threat unlike any we have ever seen. This next election is about our very survival. The scary thing is that the other side believes the same thing, because there is no way to differentiate the reality.

There lies the problem, convincing people to drink the water.

I've come to the conclusion thatn there are people born greedy-or "republican" and no amount of trying to change them will work...
They have to be legislated into behaving in a manner that benefits America.

So trying to tell a Republican not to be greedy & self centered is like telling Sparky not to be gay...It aint gonna work.
