Total BS of course.

(1,345 posts)For this to work you have to picture Trump hard at work but being distracted. This could work with any other president but impossible with Trump.

(6,212 posts)but he dismantled much of it to rid it of the good President Obama did. Now the insane idiot wants to be the leader.

(15,805 posts)the non stop interviews on Faux News, his incessant photo ops, the gourmet KFC big bucket deals, and the TV viewing time, or twitter barrages... nope, they didn't distract him frm his presidential duties,

(24,857 posts)He's "working" so hard he doesn't have time to work. OTOH it's good that he isn't more engaged in things because it limits his destructiveness (although that's mostly left to his minions) but OTOH we should never just allow POTUS to just be allowed to dither around all day like Trump has.

(9,216 posts)All the time he spends tweeting and retweeting...
All the time he spends on his constant grudge feuding.
But yeah, you're right. We're lucky he's so lazy, inept, and stupid, because it cuts down the number of hours of evil activities, and the degree of effectiveness of those hours.

(6,329 posts)Somehow a lot of other people in the know had the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Their position was that this wasnt the moment to start panicking, staffing up and buying supplies, Murphy continued.
Crucially, several lawmakers were already telling administration officials that our local public health systems were fundamentally just not ready, Murphy told me. States were beginning to grapple with some of the most thorny questions, and it was clear the administration didnt understand the scope of what was going to be necessary.

(9,216 posts)Good Greg Sargent article. Why start preparing by ramping up readiness and stockpiling supplies?
He was real busy politicizing the Justice Dept and launching bogus investigations.
Rump can't walk or chew gum, even separately.

At least, it is an admission of guilt, with a lame excuse for an excuse.

Its a hoax
Everything is going great
Obama left a mess
We should just let the elderly die for Wall Street
No one could see this coming
China didnt tell us it was bad
Nurses are stealing the masks
There are no cars at the hospital
It is all media hype
Its a second impeachment
Rating as great because public lives drumpf
AM I MISSING ANYTHING?
If rethugs spent one tenth the amount of time actually solving problems as they do trying to defend drumpf for EVERYTHING, they might actually be able to accomplish something useful.

(11,885 posts)All the time he's spent watching Fox News, and all the time he was on twitter trying to start fights with others . Then there's all the time he spent trying to get all his crimes covered up, preventing investigations from happening and keeping up with all the lying he's done, and all the time he spends trying to bribe or threaten judges and others, and all the time he probably spends with a mistress. The impeachment was nothing compared to all this other stuff he's probably been doing.

... Susan Brooks rang in her seventh decade, disco style, in the upstairs ballroom at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes.
There were local politicos, hors d'oeuvres, dancing and a lingering, if not overriding, worry of the novel coronavirus, which on March 8 had yet to paralyze daily life in Southern California.
There was also, it turns out, the virus itself. Brooks learned a week later a party-goer had tested positive for COVID-19, the infection caused by the coronavirus. She soon tested positive herself, along with three other guests ...

(139,072 posts)There's no excuse for trump. His own words condemn him.
"This is a flu. This is like a flu"; "Now, you treat this like a flu"; "It's a little like the regular flu that we have flu shots for. And we'll essentially have a flu shot for this in a fairly quick manner."
"So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths," he tweeted on March 9. "Think about that!"
No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. Its one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. Its going to be just fine.
We have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment five. And those people are all recuperating successfully.
Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China. We have a tremendous relationship with China, which is a very positive thing. Getting along with China, getting along with Russia, getting along with these countries.
Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away, he told the rally.
I think the numbers are going to get progressively better as we go along. Four days later, he pronounced the situation very much under control, and added: We had 12, at one point. And now theyve gotten very much better. Many of them are fully recovered.
Were going down, not up. Were going very substantially down, not up.
Its going to disappear. One day its like a miracle it will disappear. On Feb. 29, he said a vaccine would be available very quickly and very rapidly and praised his administrations actions as the most aggressive taken by any country.
Were talking about a much smaller range of deaths than from the flu, he said on March 2. Its very mild, he told Hannity on March 4. On March 7, he said, Im not concerned at all. On March 10, he promised: It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.
There is no testing kit shortage, nor has there ever been.
Anybody that wants a test can get a test.
"I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. Every one of these doctors said, How do you know so much about this? Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president."
