College football player kicked off team for kissing boyfriend (NoDak State College of Science)

http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/373995/

WAHPETON, N.D. – A North Dakota State College of Science football player has quit school after the head coach removed him from the team following revelations the player is homosexual.

Jamie Kuntz, 18, of Dickinson, was seen kissing his boyfriend in the press box by teammates on the sidelines, according to a story published on stranger.com.

It is unknown what team violation Kuntz broke, but the report by Dan Savage says the former Wildcats student-athlete was reprimanded by coaches following a Sept. 1 road game in Pueblo, Colo.

After the game, NDSCS head coach Chuck Parsons pulled Kuntz off the team bus and confronted him, the report says. At that point, Kuntz denied kissing anyone and denied being gay.

The story goes on to explain that Kuntz later admitted to being gay and kissing his boyfriend, and he was then kicked off the team for being a distraction.

I was the first generation to be born out of several in North Dakota.

Several years ago, the sister, of the wife of one of my cousins, died in a house fire...the house was an OLD farmhouse and I know
that there was concern about the wiring...she also smoked heavily (wiring fire or cigarette? Never found out). That night
was her last in the house as she was moving.

We do find out after she died that she was lesbian.

And then, one of the relatives happens to toss into a conversation with us,

"Folks here don't take too kindly, to those types."

I think stuff like that speaks volumes.

Series-ly, someone needs to look in the mirror about intolerance, since you basically slammed the coasts with your repsonse, if that isn't a broad brush, I don't know what is.

Kuntz should not be kicked off any team because of his sexual orientation. However, I find it pretty sketchy that his boyfriend is 65 years old.

... a guy in a bar (say, put one of his eyes out with a broken beer bottle), then it wouldn't be a big deal; and he'd still be on the team. Just as long as he was a valuable player.
