While most states in the US have ordered their citizens to stay home as they deal with the coronavirus outbreak, some are stubbornly defying expert advice – even as cases continue to rise.

The urgent need for action was made clear on Thursday, when Dr Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease expert, issued a plea for states to force people not to leave their homes.

“I don’t understand why it’s not happening,” said Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “We really should be.”

Here are five states who have taken the least action:

Alabama - Kay Ivey(R-GOP)

Arkansas - Asa Hutchinson(R-GOP)

Mississippi - Tate Reeves(R-GOP)

Oklahoma - Kevin Stitt(R-GOP)

Missouri - Mike Parson(R-GOP)

their Prez hasn't told them what to do yet, they don't need to do anything! Unfortunately, I think he's right.

The pandemic doesn't exist. It's frightening but cultists will cult. Some people on here have a hard time accepting that politics have a role in people's cognitive dissonance to a reality that can kill them.

stays with us even longer. While other states work to stop it, and then be allowed to continue with life as we knew it, these damn fools will travel and cause the virus to erupt again. We should start now with closing borders to these ignorant idiots.

8. My blue area of Georgia began local shelter in place on March 20.

We were one of the first in the state. However, we’re surrounded by red counties and red states: TN, AL, FL & SC plus a small border with western NC.

Our Governor, Brian KKKemp (R- GA) is a national laughingstock.

We are so screwed.

Edit: The correct shelter in place date is March 20. Ordinance passed on March 19.

I've been sheltering in place since March 20th. My hubby usually goes to the grocery store once a week & he goes really early in the morning when there's almost no customers. Each time he went out he said there were very few people or cars anywhere. I'm HAPPY to hear there's actually a blue rea in Ga!

BTW, we all knew Kemp was a dumbass before he was elected, and he didn't disappoint. I laugh every time I hear another talking head on TV remark about his stupidity in not knowing the virus was transmitted person to person and the CDC is really close to his office! Problem is, these damn Rite-wingers will re-elect him when he runs again!

The pre-K-12 schools went on spring break on March 7 and never reopened. UGA was also on spring break and also never resumed classes. Everything is being taught online. Sports, field trips, and day camps have all been cancelled. We were lucky that our schools break when UGA does, so we were way ahead of all other counties.

Our county passed a shelter in place ordinance on March 19 that went into effect on March 20.

It is like a ghost town here. There are some walkers, dog walkers and joggers (1-3 people or families). The grocery store is the only public place that I go to, besides the gas station. I go for groceries about twice a week and gas once every two weeks. I still go to work, but in a place not open to the public. I am at a distance from the few other co-workers who are there. The rest of my family stays home. Online School is Monday to Friday. We have a daily schedule for school.

Did you know that Brian Kemp is from Athens-Clarke County? He is a total GOP tool.

Be safe and wash your hands, a lot! 😉💦🧼👋
