MO congregant this am: "They could get ME sick but they're not because I'm covered in His blood!"

Antonio French ✔@AntonioFrench

Missouri is one of those states that exempt church services from its stay-at-home order. This is a mistake.

That's going to be your OWN blood and it will be all over Gov Parson's hands.

Is that a couple of centuries ago we ceased taking our religious belief quite this seriously. Not all of us of course, but enough to change the tenor and tone of our culture and society. Very few of us now view religion as anything worth killing or dying over. That is why the West came to the predominant role in the world it has enjoyed for a good century and a half at least (though the change was set in motion somewhat earlier). It is rather shocking to see these ancient attitudes cropping up, among people who to a casual glance seem like anybody else, but whose minds are furnished with attitudes that would not seem much out of place a thousand years ago. People are going to die over this, like it or not, and the deaths cannot be confined to the devoted who court them, and declare their 'faith' a sure shield against them.

Notice the carefree, buoyant spirit of this woman of Gaw-duh, she just radiates the love, concern, compassion, and helpfulness just like her transcendental figure told her to do. She is a bright light in the surrounding darkness, bring comfort and succor to all lonely, frightened souls in this time of tribulation.
———————

Bloody hell, she’s a menace, a carrier spreading infection to INNOCENT CHILDREN and PREGNANT MOTHERS! She’s endangering fetuses! No wonder she’s “covered in Jesus’ blood,” he’s got a world-class nosebleed from her delusions that cheapen his product!

Politics have been reduced to a struggle of the sane vs. the insane. Rooting for SANITY.

I would expect there would have been brass as well as strings in the band. The sea was reported to have been exceptionally calm that night. So the sound would have carried quite a distance.

until someone they know dies, if then. They might just write it off to God's plan.

Let them get sick, let them die. They believe that God will save them, why don't we.

You can't save them from themselves anymore than they can "save" you from your worldly and heathen selves.

Protect yourself and yours from their magical thinking.

Yet, if she starts noticing any symptoms she'll be one demanding to be tested and get immediate care. That's when she needs to be told, "you'll be fine, you're covered in Jesus's blood".

Ugh!

There’s been reports of most churches around here switching to online services, but it’s not required.

Here’s what DeWine listed as “essential” services: https://www.whio.com/news/local/coronavirus-here-are-the-businesses-considered-essential-dewine-new-order/1CTJY7J1p0lnlBR0rjmoDM/

It includes:

Religious entities. This includes religious buildings and services, including weddings and funerals.

There’s all kinds of factories still open which I KNOW aren’t essential, like my brother’s workplace and my former workplace.

These people don't read books. They listen to what their preacher has to say. (And maybe to the lyrics of Christian music, and some select country songs, like those of Lee Greenwood and Toby Keith.)

And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.
