9. My congressman decided to not run for another term, so thankfully he's been very quiet during

the pandemic. The guy's a member of the Freedom Caucus, one of the most politically retrograde members of congress. In years past he'd already be holding campaign events at local gun stores and raffling off AR-15s, appearing on FOX to demagogue about the need for Trump's wall to keep out the MS-13 caravans, or going on about terrorist muslims and evil sharia laws.

I looked on Wikipedia and found out some things. In addition to the usual publicans and sinners nonsense he supports (no global warming, tax cuts for the rich, blah, blah, blah...) I found these interesting tidbits.

In 2011, Womack filed an amendment to a spending bill in an attempt to defund Barack Obama's teleprompter.

Womack was a member of the House Appropriations Committee when in 2014[20] lawmakers inserted a prohibition into an appropriations bill that would prevent USDA staff from working on finishing regulations related to the meat industry.

Womack's son, James Phillip Womack, was sentenced to nine years in prison on felony gun and drug charges in April 2019.
