It's now officially confirmed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis: Russia infiltrated the voter databases in two Florida counties ahead of the 2016 election. We knew previously from special counsel Robert Mueller's report that at least one county's database had been breached; now DeSantis confirms that it was two.

He can't divulge which counties, he says, because the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security made him agree in writing not to disclose the information after a briefing last week. DeSantis also swears that then-Gov. Rick Scott had absolutely no idea what was happening. "We're trying to figure out what the state knew at the time," DeSantis said. "Obviously, the previous administration and the head of [the Florida Department of Law Enforcement] did not have that information."

Fast forward to 2018, when Sen. Bill Nelson, the Democrat whom Scott defeated in that year’s election, warned about the hacking and was ridiculed for the assertion. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio also knew about it, and the two wrote to Florida officials to warn them.

So now it comes down to the timeline, and DeSantis's "what the state knew at the time," because it did know about the 2016 hacking before the 2018 election. Which makes this statement from DeSantis—the Florida secretary of state at the time—disingenuous, to say the least: "Hey, this shows up in the Mueller report, no one ever said anything to me. Granted, I took office in 2019 and this happened in 2016, so I get why the FBI wouldn't have rushed to tell me about something several years ago." He can't play dumb about the whole thing now, pretending that he just found out.

What did DeSantis and Scott know about Russia's successful hack into their state and when did they know it? And what did they do to protect their state's elections system in 2018?

I read some article about their activities in the Russian mob, big real estate holdings connected to money laundering, sex trafficking and a long list of other corrupt and illegal behaviors. They evidently bought a stable full of compliant Florida politicians and judges that smoothed the way for their shady businesses.

8. You can change voter info

for starters. Their ID not matching registration data keeps them out of the booth. They have to ask for a provisional ballot to vote. Different states have different rules for those, but usually you are given 24 hr to get to the registrars office to prove who you are for your vote to get counted. Getting people booted off the rolls to make it harder for them to vote-again have to go to the registrars office to vote. Many people can not take that amount of time off from work.

If this is done when turnout is heavy, it can backup the lines and throw the polling place into chaos.

I don't live in Fla, why Dade and Broward counties? Who populates them, and what major cities are in those two counties?

I get a little bit encouraged by the reality of what is about to happen down in Florida with their carefree attitudes about this entire virus thing. And the virus will be rearing up it's ugly little head down there in the very very near future. Scientists are watching Florida closely, possibly more than any other state. Not because it is gonna get hot down there soon and the heat, Trump tells them, kills the virus, but because of all of the Republican's Politicians in Florida controlling the actions/inactions in the state and not doing anything to prevent the virus from spreading. A huge chunk of their population is still screaming HOAX at the top of their lungs and that it is no worse than a common cold.

Besides, if perchance you get this no more than a common cold, just take this totally untested, farcical miracle cure drug that Trump is talking about every time you see him on TV. None of us could understand why he touting this drug so much, and it was revealed that he and the owner of the Pharmaceutical company that makes this drug are quite a bit more than just buddies. The owner is a Major Trump supporter, has given him and the Republicans a ton of campaign donations, and dropped a million dollars on Trump for just the opportunity to meet old lardass......It would be most interesting to know how much stock Trump's spawn, Jared an Trailer Trash Barbie, have purchased for the Trump empire......
