48. it can if americans take advantage of this time to kill rw COVID-denying talk radio
Sun Apr 5, 2020, 05:14 PM
Apr 2020

RW radio is ready to push off the cliff and GOP senators know it is key to their reelections in november, has been for 30 years, more in some states than others. it always pushes their agenda and attacks their opponents — without their opponents even knowing. their chances, even in reddest states would be very questionable without that radio advantage. if dems go all out v hate talk radio the GOP will have to abandon trump. heres why.

if the GOP senators and reps, govs, etc. see americans boycotting the crap out of any advertisers on any rw station, and giving it the attention and blame it deserves for it’s part in delaying COVID response advertisers will start looking elsewhere. universities and pro sports will have to start looking for alts to broadcast sports on. even before it gets bad the ad industry will have to react preemptively — by having to ask if advertisers really want to support trump, global warming denial etc instead of bundling them on and shifting them around to cover those stations.

they are starting to get blame with a petition to the FCC to investigate COVID disinformation (freepress.net) and a lawsuit by a green candidate in wash vs fox - and dems need to pile on.

limbaugh is key to keeping message in line for all of it and for keeping the gop in line behind trump and he’s very questionable to continue with advanced lung cancer. the uncertainty around limbaugh probably already has the ad industry worried — the whole talk radio monopoly was built around him. mcconnell needs him to keep the talk radio army in line pushing that agenda, making excuses for their covid criminality, and blaming democrats. without limbaugh leading that a lot of the blowhards are going to start trying to save themselves and some may be looking to move into limbaugh slots.

GOP senators and especially mcconnell and trump need team limbaugh humming along making excuses for their treason and stupidity and if they see their talk radio advantage, the only real advantage they have, breaking up they will be forced to save themselves and dump trump.

he would have been laughed off the T.V. when he rode down that escalator cheered on by PAID spectators. I do not know what happened to the SANE gop members who now fawn all over him. Lindsey Graham once said "If we elect Donald Trump, it will be the end of the republican party, and we will deserve it" He also called him a "kook" What happened? Was the Russian money THAT much? Somebody knows the answers to all of this. Moscow Mitch has a very lucrative deal with a Russian oligarch for a company being built in Kentucky, so he fawns over tRump to loosen sanctions on Russia. What did the delegation of gop members get when they travelled to Moscow the last 4th. of July?? They are all propping the large orange barnacle up, too. Someday, and I hope it is soon, we will be made aware of how badly we have been "taken" by the gop. His Orangeness is golfing today, for a much needed break!!

The GOPhers may get voted out now and again, but more will keep popping up as long as there are billionaires and corporations willing to shell out to push their message and agenda onto the "proletariat." Restore the Fairness doctrine, reverse Citizens United, enact meaningful campaign reform, adopt universal health insurance, restore labor unions to a prominent place for all, and restart financing public education, and maybe the superhighway to serfdom will be converted to a sidewalk.

For chrissake, Access Hollywood had his voice on tape saying it. He went on television apologizing for it (or at least, as close to an apology that Trump has ever made).

And then two years ago he claimed that it wasn't his voice on the tape, that someone was faking it to make him look bad.

Anyway, if you can become president after that, and you have the entire Republican Party protecting you against any oversight -- even refusing to allow witnesses at an impeachment "trial" -- a little thing like fucking up the response to the pandemic is nothing.

"I can shoot someone on Fifth Street and not lose a vote." It's the same thing here: "I can kill thousands of people by refusing to do anything when a pandemic (which no one could have foreseen, but I knew it was a pandemic before anyone else, and anyway, I don't take responsibility for it at all) hits and not a single member of the Republican Party nor conservative media will criticize me for it."

The only way he's leaving the WH is via the election, and the Repugs and he are already working on rigging that. For example, there's a push to eliminate the use of mail-in ballots. Fat Donnie: "Each citizen should show up at the polls, show their ID, and proudly vote!" Fortunately, managing the voting process is a state function, so a campaign in favor of at-home voting should be successful.

The Repugs will use anything they can to suppress the vote, and they see the pandemic as just another tool in their toolbox.

rw talk radio - not fox, which is part of the free speech/democratic feedback system - the talk radio monopoly is not.

talk radio can also be locally coordinated and is now busy blaming local democrats for all this, like they did with katrina.

and, of course, the most important reason trump became acceptable, stole the election, and is still in office - democrats ignore talk radio

The majority of his hardcore supporters do not file taxes (either due to poverty or a defiant Libertarian streak) so they will not get their stimulus payments electronically deposited in their bank accounts. The methodology to identify citizens who have not filed taxes over the past two years has not been announced yet and the way for them to claim a paper check cut and have it mailed to them is still to be determined.

When the MAGAts don't get their stimulus checks, the bottom of his support will drop out and that will be the thing that finally ends his presidency.
