I probably missed the "briefing" where this was discussed but how have TPTB reasoned that these next two weeks are going to be the worse for the Coronavirus Outbreak, especially considering how awful things already are/were?

I agree that it is a terrible analogy but at least they are admitting that it is real now. That is a step forward from last month.
