Trump is benefitting from this destruction somehow.
We've seen it before. Cheney benefitted from the Iraq war because his company ended up with billion-dollar contracts. Something like that is happening now.

role in all this. Not some slippery, unidentified "Trump inner circle" but U.S. senators.

The evidence is incontrovertible that Republicans controlling the senate refused to take the actions they knew full well they needed to stop this from developing into a pandemic, including passing laws to put a leash on Trump.

And they actively suppressed efforts by the Democrats to take action. All a matter of congressional record.

And all the while, many of them and their agents publicly reassured the nation that it was just a cold the Democrats were lying about. Until rising death counts 3 months in made that tactic no longer effective.

Genocide by disease. And make no mistake, a large majority of those who will die were or were close to receiving government benefits, including the national retirement fund they paid into all their working lives.

for a long time we've been hearing that republicans in the WH & congress have been alarmed by the things they see happening in the administration & yet none of them seem to be so alarmed that they try to do anything about it! At least I haven't seen them try to do anything about it. In fact, Senate republicans seemed to do whatever they could during the impeachment trial to cover his ass!

This tweet seems to explain why.

She was being interviewed by Amy Goodman last month.

Now that Rep. Katie Porter says she has receipts showing that Trump's administration is putting profits above American lives that seems like a real if mind-boggling possibility.

https://buzzflash.com/articles/america-last-rep-porter-has-receipts-showing-trump-chose-a-quick-buck-over-american-lives

Then there's bidding up prices against the states and also confiscating states' orders for masks and ventilators.

https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-federal-govt-fema-accused-taking-states-masks-ventilator-orders-2020-4

The delays allowed several U.S. Senators including Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler to dump stocks (and in the case of Loeffler to invest in stocks sure to go up due to the coronavirus). What else did the delay allow to be put in place? Profiteers?

And it is like a reality TV show where the characters are playing their parts on the national stage for The Spectacle and they know that. The optics are what matter most.

Trump is very good at being a con artist, that's the biggest problem: decades of practice. His character works to condition both sides in different ways.

Malice? For sure. There's more to the game than meets the eye. Look carefully and put the pieces together. What is at stake here is democracy, plain and simple.

Fascists

Fascism is authoritarian, right wing government by a dictator (ie. a president who thinks they’re above the law). It’s complete control by whim rather than rule of law (ie. promoting divisiveness for personal gain.)

Characteristics:

* contempt for democracy (voter suppression)
* contempt for free speech, facts, science, truth
* belief in natural rule of rich (giving citizens’ billions to billionaires)
* takeover (privatization) of schools and media to promote propaganda
* separate ethnic, racial, religious groups

Historical fascists: Mussolini-Italy; Dollfuss-Austria and Hitler-Germany

There is also no doubt this president is a dithering, quivering, incompetent fool.

Calling this administration incompetent assumes that they're trying to do the right thing.

In this case, they're deliberately doing the opposite of the right thing every step of the way: no preparation, reducing funding for CDC and WHO, refusing to use virus test kits available from WHO, still no wide-spread testing, no national medical response, shipping faulty medical supplies to blue states, hampering domestic test kit development, telling the states they're on their own to obtain medical supplies, bidding on those same medical supplies in competition of the states, seizing medical supplies in blue states, reselling them on the "open" market at inflated prices, etc.

This isn't incompetence.

This is deliberate. This is malice. This is evil.
