Just the Facts, please.
Name the top 10 things Trump has done that you disagree with or are angry about.
Don't name-call.
This is what I came up with when responding to some Trump supporter on Facebook:
I accept that my 401K has increased. It was increasing under Obama, and it has continued to increase under Trump. Last year, my taxes were lower than expected. (This year I owe and I am pissed about it.)
But there are a lot of things Trump has done that disturb me - denying asylum and reducing immigration, reducing EPA regulations, allowing more depletion of natural resources, refusing the Paris Agreement, changing the rate of improvement in car gas mileage.
There are things that I expected - increasing the number of conservative judges. Not increasing the minimum wage. No improvements in gun control, building an unnecessary wall, and diverting funds from necessary social programs in order to do it. Even holding up the national budget to get the money.
There are things he has done that amuse me - putting his family in charge of major policy positions. .
There are things he promised to do that he didn't do - there is no improved health care plan. He golfs far more than he promised to.
And then there's the money. He has enriched his friends in so many ways. He has enriched himself in so many ways. He has used his presidency to divert government funds to major corporations, who don't need it. Even now, in the midst of a pandemic, he is allowing price gouging on necessary supplies, withholding national stockpiles, or supplying defective equipment, pushing medicines that are manufactured by a company he has stock in.
I am not happy with how he has cozied up to Saudi Arabia, despite the murder of an American citizen. Or the head of North Korea, who continues to hold missile exercises. Or Putin, who has clearly interfered with our elections.
He has been impeached on verifiable grounds, but permitted to stay in power without due process.
And he insults the heads of state of our allies, especially the ones who don't have one of his golf courses or hotels.
So, those are my reasons. The fact that he slept with a call girl doesn't bother me. The fact that he would grab a woman's pussy does not surprise me. He is crass. He is racist. He insults those with disabilities. He encourages ultra-conservative militants. None of that surprises me. That is the nature of many who supported him. It just shows the reality of the ugly part of America. But truly, it is the things he has done while in office that I am most angry about.
