not my Commander-in-Chief

I'm not being necessarily anti-Trump here, which I am, but I'm not or never have been in the military, so no President is my Commander-in-Chief.

For someone to state that 'he/she' is my Commander-in-Chief so therefore, 'he/she' should be able to demand my respect 'him/her' does not make sense to me.

of the military. The Founders wanted to make sure there would be civilian control of the armed forces. Article 88 of the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) deals with disrespectful actions by active duty military members towards superiors. Forgive me if you knew this already.

Since you are not active duty military you have no obligation at all to “respect” the President. Did I miss something? Did Numb Nuts say he was everyone’s CinC? Trump cannot command ordinary civilians. Alas, respecting Trump is a burden forced upon the active Military, not the rest of We the People.
