he's a competent bureaucrat, which will be important moving forward.

But, I always vote a straight ticket Democrat. I don't have to be coaxed anywhere, but I am not required to believe he's a god. He's a middle-of-the road old white dude.

I haven't left my house in weeks, so I'm not excited about anything, nor am I convinced that the election will be fair. It is very likely to be a shit show of epic proportion, rife with Republican malfeasance. So, no I'm not excited.

every election since I turned 18 with one exception when I missed a school board election the first year we moved to hell...I mean Iowa, because I wasn't aware of when it was. I vote every. Single. Time.

Yeah, I'll be excited if he's gone, but I think they will do literally anything to hang on to power. Our system only works if both sides believe that laws are a thing.

One side doesn't believe that and every day they gain a little more power, because there is no mechanism to take it back from them.

So, I have very little hope. Yes, we'll win the election, at least by the votes, but I fear that they will keep power anyway.

So, please stop saying "Please vote", I do vote. Always. I've said that over and over. I owe no one 'enthusiasm'.

From what I have seen of Joe Biden, he is a decent person. He is genuinely empathetic. He likes to tell stories and sometimes he sticks his foot in his mouth. He can be a hot head and say some silly things, but he is also very intelligent and humble. I have no fear in voting for him because I have seen him change his mind on things, not on whim, but after getting evidence which caused him to rethink things. I also have no doubt that Biden would surround himself with actual experts and smart people, and he will listen to them and do what is right for people, not what will give him short term gains. Biden has been in Congress, has been Vice President, but he hasn't become wealthy by exploiting the system for his own gain. Biden is a good person and will be at the very minimum, a good President, with the chance to be a great President.

misogyny is still strong in the nation, socialism is toxic to millions of voters so Sanders and even Warren couldn't win, Buttigeig is brilliant but needs seasoning and then there's the homophobe element out there, and of all the other males in the race Biden has that blue collar appeal that plays well in swing states, trump is scared of him and he has the Obama connection—he's the one that most voters can coalesce behind.

And wasn't it beautiful how Klobuchar, Buttigeig and O'Rourke coalesced behind Biden after his string of strong wins. That's how it's done in a party to shut out a sometime party member trying once again to usurp the nomination.

The word progressive is SO toxically manipulated. I just read a couple articles on Vox and Vox links that called LW radicals liberals (! Sanders and his base despise liberals) and LW populists progressives, even though progress comes in a very distant second goal to smashing whatever progressive Democrats support.

In both cases, the articles wiped out the huge divide between Democratic and conservative/Republican voters by allocating most into a mid range called moderates. If we could just define that gone, I'd be with language corruption all the way. At least until it caused some other dreadful effect.

And of course this kind of "analysis" tosses Madden in with those who think losing to Republicans is hardly worse than losing to Democrats, certainly a totally acceptable risk.

... The Clintons, Obamas, Bidens and many others are a lot more progressive that they let on... remember Hillary trying to get health care done decades ago... remember Obama wanted a more progressive program. I think they were all for marriage equality before they publicly "came out" for it...

Moderates win national elections.

effectively to be progressive as well. How else for government of, by and for the people? And those people named are lifelong liberals, with long records of progressivism proving it. Just look at our long, long current party platform? from beginning to end all about the use of government power to achieve liberal progressive goals. So, yes, and thanks for saying it.
