Because it's impacts your Dopamine levels and makes you feel good and eutrophic.

Additionally, people were called "DOPEs" or "DOPEY". because when someone isn't behaving smartly, it resembles how someone behaves when they are using opiates.

Dope used to only be referred to in terms of opiate usage, but over time, Dope has been used to describe pretty much any recreational drug.

The cartoons are cute though.
