The former press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) presidential campaign said Monday that she would not endorse former Vice President Joe Biden, shortly after Sanders appeared in an online video to announce support for his former rival in the general election against President Trump.
Briahna Joy Gray, who was Sanders's national spokeswoman until the campaign was suspended last week, has become a Twitter sensation in recent days for her searing attacks against Biden.
On Monday, just minutes after Sanders and Biden held a joint press conference to talk about how they would work together to defeat Trump, Gray responded on Twitter by saying she would not endorse Biden.

(112,236 posts)I think she also realizes that her gravy train has ended and that she have to find a real job in an economy that is sour and employers having the option to find someone far less vocal.
There are a lot of people that work their way up the ladder and lose their best-paying jobs in their forties and fifties. There is a very strong possibility that Briahna has already had her best-paying job and she is only 35.

(25,537 posts)Typical comment: Bernie shouldn't be supporting someone he has spent his entire life opposing. To beat Trump, we need someone who will fight for Sanders' platform of health care as a human right, protecting social security, environmental issues, fair wages and free college.
Um ... Bernie told them he is the only one with progressive ideas so it must be true. Maybe some of them might start doubting their faith now.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)Not shown is that EVERY one of the positions Biden and Sander have been running on reflect the liberal progressive ideology of the Democratic Party and are in our 2016 platform. They are liberalism in principle and application.
Sanders copied the current Democratic positions to run on then and now but tweaked them to "more" for those who wanted to be deceived, like from free community college to free four-year, and then claimed Democrats were AGAINST them. From long before he arrived in congress and over the 29 years to now, many of his Democratic colleagues have believed four-year college education should be free, an investment in our people and nation.
As for those commenters, those sorts are an unfortunate drag on progress, and sometimes dangerous, in every era. Lincoln's some who can be fooled all the time, because they insist on it, are always with us. Today's true believers right and left are alike in their determination to follow the false leaders they always find and in their false belief in their own virtue.
To have good government we must elect good people.

(1,729 posts)Perhaps as much as or even more as the toxic Bros, Bernie's hiring of the Third Party Gorgons reinforced the message to every Democratic Party voter that he was not a team player. Living in Louisana coming from Boston, I went from a place where football was a hugely popular pastime to a place where it's an obsessive religion. People love their teams. Dem voters saw that Bernie wasn't on that team and voted accordingly. It's strange that so many independents cannot grasp this concept.

(17,340 posts)I wish I could send her this - She's a spoiled little shit.
From my friend Michael Pristash. Best post of the day.
Warning: cursing ahead.
I'm about to say something that will win me no friends and will likely cost me a few. I will try to be as delicate and *eloquent* as possible.
I'm a Progressive. I'm a gay, overly privileged cisgender white man. No, Vice President Biden wasn't my first choice to take on Trump in November. He's not progressive enough for me, and frankly, he's not the woman I wanted for the job.
But for those of you complaining about Biden as the likely Democratic nominee, and especially for those threatening to not vote for him and encouraging others to do the same:
Fuck you. Fuck you and your overly privileged existence. Fuck you for complaining whilst bitching from your couch, playing your video games and planning your next night out, viewing of Rupaul's Drag Race, and Genderqueer or "Bears Only" orgy.
He's out there each day busting his ass, trying to be the one to take on Trump head-to-head. He's old, he's tired, he's lost more than he could ever stand to gain by doing this. This isn't a vanity project. This is running the motherfucking United States from out of the ground. There is no glory in politics. You're hated more than you're appreciated. And damn it, this man is doing it anyway . . . for you, for me, for all of us . . . because he's about the only one who can right now.
So straighten up and be grateful, you pieces of shit. Until you're ready to put yourself on the line and try to lead us out of this hell-hole we're in, shut the fuck up, put your head down, and do the work to make sure this man gets elected.
He's not my guy either, but he's a hell of a guy to sacrifice what ought to be his restful, relaxed, and well-earned golden years to try to save our collective asses.
Stop being fucking assholes. Show some gratitude and get your shit together. We have a fight ahead of us . . . especially with all the ways the GOP electioneer and cheat. We need every moderate, Democratic, and Progressive vote we can get up and down the ballot.
I mean this with loving kindness.
I say this because we need to do better. I say this because I love this country, this planet, the environment, humankind, and the freedoms we still have.
