Kentucky worshipers met with nails in road as they defy coronavirus lockdown

A Kentucky church defied coronavirus lockdown orders to hold a packed Easter Sunday service — despite a heavy police presence and even nails blocking the parking lots, according to a report.

Maryville Baptist Church appeared to have a near-full house for its Sunday service despite orders to avoid in-person services — and the heightened risk of catching COVID-19, the Louisville Courier Journal said.

Worshipers arrived even after police warned that they would record their license plates to force them into 14-day quarantines.

Many — including the defiant pastor, the Rev. Jack Roberts — arrived with their plates covered, with officers instead recording their VIN numbers, the paper said.

Even more desperate measures appeared to have been taken to keep the faithful away — with “piles of nails” blocking each entrance, according to photos shared by the Courier Journal.

It was not clear who had left the nails, which were eventually cleared by church volunteers in time for the main arrivals, the paper said.

Wonder if they'd like to move to Guyana? Heard the koolaid is good down there.

A bit much? But putting faith in the notion that a preacher can save you from a deadly virus is almost as bad. Besides, that preacher just wants his collection plates full.

Boggles the mind. 🤯

I've never understood how they get women especially to buy into organized religion, given that every one of the major brands denegrates them.

The whole thing is about keeping the masses disempowered imo. Again, at least for the major brands.

I used to tell my parents this when I was a little kid. Blew their minds and, unfortunately for me, kept dragging me to church on Sundays.

When they forced me to go to religious ed & I was in class preparing to receive sacrament of communion.

So I came home & innocently asked why these men kept saying we had to confess our sins to them, when we all have the ability to connect directly to the creator.

Got a gasp, a crack across the face & "How dare you question."

I looked at mom & said, How dare you not?!?"

Mind you, I was a whopping age of 6. They like to brainwash young, I guess. Didn't fly here. 😉

She walked away.

I was always in hot water for pointing up the religious hypocracy. Unclear as to why they could noy see the obvious. ???

I fail to see a problem.

Of course if they leave their vehicles and assemble than we would have the possibility of transferring the virus.

I don’t attend church but I know some people here in Florida who attended a church car service on Easter. They told me everybody stayed inside their cars.
