Has anyone else lost their voice from not using it for days?

I’m isolating alone and therefore not talking to anyone. All my communication has been on texts. I went to the store today and when I started to speak to the cashier, my voice barely squeaked out. Sounded a little bit like laryngitis.

She was talking to her dog as though she expected the dog to reply. I told my cat what I'd seen, and we both had a good laugh.

I have a Jenday conure who turns 1 on Wednesday. His name is Punch....named after a Peregrine falcon that I knew years ago. I talk to him all day every day because he goes to works with me too. Punch says “step up” and “be sweet” and “whoa!”

If you don’t mind sharing...I’d love to know more about your bird.

you will have loads of time to talk..

i have a Cockatiel that i bought for my daughter when she was young, he was 1-2 yrs old? He must be 18+ yrs by now... doesn't speak, shrieks and sometimes answers birds outside with garble bird squeak .. he's caged bc he doesn't like to come out to me from his cage, but i interact daily with him, feed water cover tut tut with him ... i tell him every time i'm leaving when i'll be back, and wake him each morning when i do, he has a tent house he either gets in, puts his head in, or sits on top ..
he can't sing, but if i play Dylan (early) and a harp is involved, he does a damn good job at this is all i got, sweet rhythm chirp along and i'm good with that..
he came to us as Giacomo, we call him Jockamo, or Jmo.. i call him my mini raptor as we eye each other each morning, wondering who will be the last one
to wake and sprinkle the seed..

but every nite i say goodnight to him, turn out the lights, and he chirrups back to me 🙏🏻

By alone I mean no other human around. Have 3 dogs and a cat.

My husband used to deploy a lot for long periods of time and I'd be alone for hours, days even. Talking to myself helped.

I've always talked to myself though.

My kiddo called me out on it today... not the cussing but that I got diagnosed with an ulcer last week...he said “you’re not supposed to be watching that jackass, mama”.

Has been known to cause ulcers in sentient beings. Hazardous to living things. Dangerous if too close in proximity. Beware of far ranging bad vibes. May cause ulcers. May cause reduction in IQ.

Got to the opening hymn, and my voice was very croaky from not talking much all week. Luckily we were singing with mute on, just the piano accompaniment, so nobody but Mrs. gratuitous had to endure it.

because of this Situation, today after the latest 3 or 4 days without using the vehicle, it was ODD to have the tank totally Full, plus starting to drive, everything (brakes, gas pedal, wheel) felt really really STRANGE.

As I've said before, now when I realize driving away that I've forgotten my PARTIALS, it doesn't matter, don't have to go back to the house to get them, because I'll be wearing a MASK and nobody will see the empty teeth.

From not using it much. Seems it gets hoarse if I yell to the cat to come eat or if I laugh hard. Anything that raises my voice. Than it's a little sore afterwards.

I have 4 kids at home, the two middle ones are 5 and 6, they have been at each other's throats for weeks now. I'm constantly yelling at then to stop fighting, stop running in the house, and to settle down.
