It seems to be an ongoing thing with Republickscum to "trigger the libz" by suggesting they will assume a dictatorship. No one's actually taken it seriously before, but Donny Littlehands is just spectacularly stupid enough to try it.

(21,345 posts)Trump's cult will rationalize that some way. I have said this several times, we are living in a Farenheit 451, 1984, and A Brave New World, all rolled up into one. All of those books apply to the US today.

(21,345 posts)now replaced by the Trump party their silence confirms it. The former Republican party used to call itself the party of small government, the state's right party. It wasn't factual but it used to call itself that. With Trump going all out King mode with unlimited authority over states, over governors, there should be an uproar. 1 mouse squeaks, Liz Cheney. R.I.P. Republican party you did it to yourselves.

(3,166 posts)After Trump goes down in flames and they lose the Senate, they might lay low for awhile, but eventually it will be "Donald who?? Oh yeah, well he wasn't really a Republican. You know he was a Democrat for most of his life, right? He was even friends with... the CLINTONS <bom bom BOM> back in the day."
They will never take responsibility for him. They will find some way to blame him on the Democrats.

(3,145 posts)If he retains his messiah like status to the deplorable base they'll continue to bow and scrape before him. I fully expect to see candidates in future R primaries vying for the chance to kiss his ring first and thus get to brag about having his blessing.

(22,913 posts)but it doesn't contain even a hint of condemnation. She is in House Republican leadership but not even the the word "President", let alone Trump, are mentioned in this tweet.

The federal government does not have absolute power.

(14,854 posts)Putting more control in the hands of businesses and corporations is NOT freedom.
Every place that Ive worked has been a mini-tyranny, with top management that behaves much like Trump. Employees can make suggestions, but true critiquing will likely result in job termination. Only management is allowed to judge performance. Edit: And Ive never seen management who had to take tests to show they were qualified to do THEIR jobs.
Its little wonder to me that many Americans arent surprised by Trumps behavior. Many of them experience it almost every day at their jobs!
At least government provides a democratic voice through representation, NOT BOSSES to everyone; but the business world has successfully convinced many Americans, through years of propaganda, that government is the problem.
Im not surprised that military personnel often support right-wingers too.
I hope that this country never elects a big business honcho again. At least lawyers are accustomed to making arguments for their case. (Same for scientists.) Business honchos are more accustomed to simply laying down the law, and you can get out if you dont like it.

(22,913 posts)Yes one can say that there is a implicit condemnation of Trump, but implicit and condemnation don't even belong in the same sentence. Not only is Trump not mentioned here, she failed to even use the word "President" or "Presidency".

(10,185 posts)before adopting this radical position. Putin recently forced Russia's government to resign, then proposed sweeping constitutional changes to prolong his stay in power. Is that what this "perfect call" was all about?
