Something meant to save your life in a car crash is being used to make

With hospitals in need of personal protective equipment to keep medical workers safe, Ford is using airbag material.

DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Company says it is ramping up its production of personal protective equipment for medical professionals. That includes making hospital gowns from airbag material that can be washed and re-used up to 50 times.

Ford said it is working with airbag supplier Joyson Safety Systems to cut and sew up to 100,000 gowns per week, reaching 1.3 million by July 4.

Ford said it worked with Beaumont Health in Metro Detroit to design a gown pattern and test it for sizing. More than 5,000 gowns have already been delivered.

They're probably contaminated by the propellant and cannot be used.

They wouldn't need to harvest scraps from old airbags - can get huge rolls of fresh fabric.

president months earlier. Imagine how many lives could have been saved. This is wonderful news. Shows how when people come together, goals can be met. Has Jared heard about this yet? He has to set prices, doesn't he?

seems to think that just SAYING the words "Presidential Defense Act" makes thing magically occur. He never has caught on to actual work. He passes it all off to that inexperienced son in law and expects miracles. I guess his daughter really talked him up before she married him.

I'd bet on tripping hazard resulting in facial injuries.
At least they didn't involve Takata.
