My sister. who has a reputation for making shit up, claims the nursing home she works at, will not let her use her cell phone.
BULLSHIT.
It's been 3 weeks since she talked to me, she will, however, call my Mom.
I had a long talk with Mom, and flat out told her that's it.
I won't talk to my sister again.
I'm fed up with her lies.
She doesn't owe me any money, and I don't need her help with anything.

Nope, this is just the usual bullshit from my sister.
She has a gambling habit, and has a tendency to simply run off, leaving people like me and my Mom simply hanging.

(115,719 posts)That's bullshit. She doesn't want to talk to you, and you have every reason not to want to talk to her. If she ever does call, you should tell her your employer won't let you use your phone.

Seems like she should be able to use it off duty, though.

There are many points to consider. In today's technology age, who wants to come across gramma, in her last days, in a Covid19 meme?
Nurses are also using their phone to connect a patient to family members before the patient is put on a vent.
Some places of work are using this policy to prevent and threaten whistleblowers.

Up to you, if you don't want to say why you cut off your brother, it's ok.

Growing up, he never missed a chance to punish me for it.
When, in adulthood, I figured out that he was a malignant narcissist I cut my losses, and have no regrets.

I cannot help her, but my Mom does and pays a heavy price for it.
