Poll: Black VP pick could boost Biden

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/14/poll-biden-black-vp-185043

Black voters in battleground states would be more enthusiastic about voting for Joe Biden in November if he chose an African-American woman as a running mate, a new poll shows.

Biden is already highly popular with black voters, according to the poll of 800 black voters conducted for BlackPAC, a progressive-leaning advocacy group. But 55 percent of African-American voters said they would be more excited to turn out or vote for Biden if he picked a black woman to join his ticket, the poll showed. Another 27 percent said the pick made no difference because they’d stick with Biden.

Only 7 percent said they would still vote for Donald Trump, who is deeply unpopular with black voters despite the president's outreach to them.

Biden, who announced last month he would pick woman vice presidential candidate, has been under increasing pressure from allies and advocacy groups to pick a black woman, which would serve as a recognition that black voters fueled his primary win and could do the same in November with big turnout in key battleground states.

but I think some people just can't let things be, they want to kick up a dust storm. As far as I can see, the frontrunners are Kamala & Stacy. And as the senator has a more national profile, I think she is in a very good position. Plus she is a senator in a state with a Dem gov so a Dem will be chosen to replace her.

On the other hand, a black woman would energize black voters like nothing else

She'd probably swing Georgia over to us in the general election. And she wouldn't try to outshine Joe Biden.

Congressional seats we already hold. She checks all the boxes, and might even deliver Georgia.

How do you seriously go from State Senator to VP?

the younger voters who by-and-large distrust “experience” anyway. They want to change the system. In my mind, that counters your point.

Just google it, and you'll see dozens of articles analyzing why that was the case. Mostly, it has to do with her tenure as AG in California.
Elizabeth Warren was more popular with black voters than Harris.

But there's a very good chance that the female he chooses will be someone entirely different than the names being bandied about.

.....on someone who could barely garner 5% of the black support during her entire Democratic primary campaign, and comes from a solid blue state. The excuse that there were too many candidates in the field does not fly when you consider who did capture the majority of black support in this country.
Neither should he weaken his campaign by choosing someone with very little experience in national politics.
There are several women qualified as a VP pick, and one of the most important things she can bring to the campaign is the delivery of a victory in a crucial swing state.
