a coordinated effort. No details yet but the reporter was quoting a source of information (can't remember the guys name). Anyway, I think that this does stink on many levels.
Romney talking out of his ass this morning would have had us in war by midmorning should he have been in the WH.

(17,064 posts)What protesting mob shows up with guns and RPGs? I think the actual attackers were al Qaeda or similar group. They either incited the mob as a diversion, or took advantage of it on short notice to carry out an already planned attack. Thus, there likely is two groups involved, possibly a third who coordinated the two?

Who is this guy who appears to not exist now? That is where the investigation should begin. Find out who he is first, then who he is connected to.

(62,325 posts)past history on how far they are willing to go to get what they want, nothing would be a shock at this point. The timing, right before the election, is definitely suspicious. First thing we need to know is the identity of the instigator of all of this.

But it is a possibility that a remnant of al Qaeda or allies of Khadafy or another leader in the Middle East might be behind such an attack? Syria might stand to gain if attention could be focused elsewhere besides their corrupt regime?
However, they may have miscalculated. If the President would dare to send troops into Pakistan to take out Bin Laden, he would not hesitate to go into Libya. My guess is that there are some very tight assholes in Libya right now. They will not sleep well tonight.
