How California bent the curve...the dotted line surging is what could have happened. The blue line is where CA is at now.

And the horizontal line is where the capacity for hospitalizations was.

So many lives have been saved.

5. Kudos to CA, but headline is wrong

The post is not HOW they did it, but rather the RESULTS.

I was hoping for analysis instead it was just vague statistics with no sourcing.

10. Gov Newsom told us to stay home & we did. There were explanations, follow-up, empathy, "how-to", etc

Sounds simple, but that's all it took for me/us. When it became clear that it was a matter of life and death and shown a way, we were on board.

I still can't believe the deaths are so low. And I am thrilled my beliefs have been shattered by the most populous state in the country.

9. Gov. Newsom told me to stay home & I've been home since 3/12/20, as has my family

my friends, my neighbors. Rachel Maddow showing ct scans of covid-19 lungs drove home the point.

Californians knew it was a big ask - to shelter in place, and perhaps there were a few initial slips - but we did it/are doing it.

Gov. Newsom explained it to us, showed us, showed us empathy, explained how it was hitting other countries - until we all understood it was a matter of life or death. Yes, he took his leadership role by the horns to keep us as safe as possible.

done for our state and feel very fortunate that this is my home. I think he and Governor Cuomo are wonderful role models. I hope other Governors and state leaders will realize that there must be a plan.....
