Pastor Terry Jones still promoting incendiary film

Recent post on Politico: Pastor Terry Jones still promoting incendiary film:

An anti-Islamic pastor in Florida best known for burning the Quran is still promoting an amateurish film that protesters have cited in attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four U.S. officials.

Terry Jones told NBC’s Orlando affiliate he had no role in creating the film, but planned to show it at his church in Gainesville and promote it to a wider audience.

“When we do our activities, when we raise our awareness of the radical element of Islam, we are posing those people absolutely no danger,” Jones said. “We are, perhaps, insulting some people, but just because you are insulted, it gives you no right to break into someone’s house, go into his yard, kill him and destroy his property. So we should by no means excuse their activities.”

Apparently, Jones has been attempting to capitalize on the anniversary of the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks to promote his bigoted agenda.

The 61-year-old Jones did proclaim Tuesday, the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, as “International Judge Muhammad Day,” and held a press conference in which he put the Muslim prophet “on trial” for “being a false prophet thus leading 1.6 billion people astray” and other crimes. In a statement issued before the Tuesday deaths in Libya, Jones defended his actions and called Muslims intolerant.

Jones first achieved notoriety in 2010, when he said he would burn 200 Qurans on Sept. 11. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates and then-Gen. David Petraeus all condemned the threat and suggested it would put American troops at risk. Jones called off that burning.

I still think that Terry Jones' agenda is to deliberately provoke violence in the Middle East to embarrass the administration and influence the election.

Edited to update: An MSNBC commentator just referred to this debacle as a "September Surprise!" They don't even wait for October any more!

is all about bigotry and intolerance. Imo, Jones can holler that he's christian until he's blue. His actions speak louder than his words.

and drop him somewhere over the Middle East and let him fight his own battles instead of picking fights from the bleachers. See what kind of a tough-guy he is then.
