Who will be the first Republican Governor to follow Trump and open up his state completely?

Who will volunteer his/her state to be the guinea pig?

Trump has no plan, other than he just wants to open up the economy so his election is not threatened in November.

Several Democratic Governors, on both the East and West coasts, are working on plans to get people back to work. But they want to do it in a thoughtful and safe way.

Trump does not seem to be overly concerned about any specific plan of safety. He is thinking of himself. That's who he is.

Also, Trump does not seem to be worried that there might be a second wave? If that happens, maybe it will happen after the election, and that would be OK with him.

In my opinion, in the end, Trump will adopt a plan that is developed by the Democratic Governors. Because Republicans have no idea how to govern.

For whatever reason, we are not getting clobbered like the northern states even though the prediction was hell on earth. DeSantis is a jerk but being a jerk doesn’t mean the people are. There are at least 50 percent of the state Democratic supporters.

And all the major population areas except Jacksonville and Pensacola are blue. Unless he wants to overrule them he is pretty helpless to get the cities up and running.

And we have millions of citizens trying to sign up for unemployment and running up against a system designed to fail. In 6 weeks he will be the most hated man in the state. 3 million people unable to get the support they have coming to them and having to put everything on credit cards. He is being crucified in all the papers.

Plus, Disney and the other parks will totally ignore him and insure things are safe before reopening. They will tell him to pound sand.

I look for him to freeze. Do as little as possible.

killing thousands of their own citizens?

But, in the unrealistic rump world, I'm sure one of them will step up and volunteer his/her own state's citizens to be those unwilling test subjects.

I'd think that this would be the last time that governor will ever be in politics again.

meant by "completely open up" though. If people think it means just going back to our old lives as they were, that's not happening. At least not for long, if at all, until the threat of dying is gone. People are going to worry about dying, about liability. I don't see people wanting to go into stores and restaurants for long time. I see a much slower return to doing things as we learn how to do them safely.

I think it's all just empty talk by people who have no idea how to do it without killing a lot of people, and they will not want to be personally stained by that blood. Or sued over it.

I have no doubt if Dotard says open things up, DeSantis will.
