The riot is looking more like fabricated outrage

Other DU'ers are now starting to note the film may have been cobbled together from other films with crude overdubs to alter its content and context and deliberately released on 9/11 for the purpose of ginning-up outrage.

And now CNN reports --

(CNN) -- A pro-al Qaeda group responsible for a previous armed assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi is the chief suspect in Tuesday's attack that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya, sources tracking militant Islamist groups in eastern Libya say.

They also note that the attack immediately followed a call from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri for revenge for the death in June of a senior Libyan member of the terror group Abu Yahya al-Libi.

The group suspected to be behind the assault -- the Imprisoned Omar Abdul Rahman Brigades -- first surfaced in May, when it claimed responsibility for an attack on the International Red Cross office in Benghazi. The following month the group claimed responsibility for detonating an explosive device outside the U.S. Consulate, and later released a video of that attack.

Emphasis added.

Omar Abdul Rahman is the blind terrorist serving a life sentence for masterminding the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

the producer of the film. He also says that he may have been using a nom-de-plume.

Unless you are suggesting coordination between Christian AND Islamist extremists.

Interesting.

regardless of whatever they may cite as an underlying cause. Even if the film turns out to have been the work of Christians intent on insulting Islam and using false pretenses to gain the contributions of the actors and production staff that is irrelevant because it appears there are groups determine to make attacks.

The film was their pretext. Yes, it was offensive (not that that matters WRT murdering people) but at the end of the day those who want to do things like this will do it regardless. If it wasn't the film they would work their way down the list of cheap and sorry excuses until they reached "cheeseburgers with too many transfats."
