tomatoes, or paint their houses? I have heard this several times in the last few days alex jones or faux snooze?
Edited to add, if my brain had not been in shock: One does not plant outdoors in these states right now anyway. Hell, not for at least another month here (still had snow yesterday). Painting?? Not done at this time of year either.

No, nothing preventing use of these items, just going shopping for them.

(7,947 posts)So I could go buy all the paint I wanted, if I thought of this as a great time to paint my house, lol.
Maybe they don't realize you can order plants online these days, and plant them without breaking social distancing.
I think it's almost supernatural, how Trump can lead these people to do and say and think things they'd never considered before, and to no purpose at all, except to exalt him. You know he is literally getting pleasure from watching these people risk their health because he wants them to. "See how powerful I am," he gloats.

(16,201 posts)They are trying to overcome their backlog. My seed potatoes are stuck in that mess, though the weather is miserable in the Northeast and I am probably OK planting 2 weeks late.

(16,201 posts)And honestly, given the starts of food supply shocks, growing a "victory garden" is probably a good idea.

(32,626 posts)who said there's something wrong when you can smoke grass, but you can't mow it. I guess he was talking about a landscaping business? Doesn't make sense because it's easy to keep a safe distance, wear a mask, whatever...if you're doing landscaping. And what that has to do with smoking grass, or what's wrong with smoking grass? You can do both, at the same time.

(16,201 posts)You can also put potatoes in as it takes them a few weeks to punch through the soil surface.
Some vegetables are "cool season" crops and are planted mid-spring. Others are warm season plants like tomatoes and you must wait until after last frost. Cool season plants do poorly planted later as the summer heat damages them. Some, like long day onions, won't form a bulb if planted at the wrong time. They bulb based on the length of day.

(1,242 posts)"Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmers latest stay-home order to battle the coronavirus pandemic allows home improvement stores to stay open, but only to sell products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation and basic operations of residences.
"The new regulations required Home Depot to close its paint section, flooring section and outdoor gardening center by Friday morning.
Tillery, a Lansing resident who already lost his job as a floor layer, has been trying to make ends meet during the pandemic by picking up side jobs as a handyman, providing what he said are emergency repairs in a time of crisis. "
"Paint was supposed to be one of the last steps in his current project: fixing a home after a tree crashed through the roof, damaging the ceiling and causing water damage.
"Whitmers order also requires large retailers to close carpet or flooring, furniture, garden and plant nursery sections, either by blocking them, placing signs in aisles, posting prominent signs or removing goods from shelves. Bottle return sections at grocery stores must also remain closed. "
