As we approach 44,000 deaths, do you think Republicans will have second thoughts....

about wanting the country run by a TV gameshow host?

We're approaching 44K deaths in just 7 weeks!

You would think at least some Republicans would be reevaluating their decision....

As long as the majority are non-rich old people, poor PoC and immigrants the GOPers won't care.

In fact the longer we shut things down the more they'll be voting for Trump come November I fear. The second wave that comes from this stupidity is going to have to bite these idiots in the ass in historic numbers to change this reality.

He said during an interview today that "there are more important things than living."

That would be the US economy in case you're wondering.

Dan Patrick is merely underscoring his previous comments that older Americans should be willing to sacrifice themselves on the altar of capitalism.

More important things than living????

For an economy that is 70% consumer driven, a statement like this sounds ludicrous, beyond laughable.

But for Republicans this sentiment appears to make sense, even though it would've been deemed monstrous back in the day.

Will they regret this stance?

Yes, when they lose power in November. Then we can expect another autopsy where the blame will be fully transferred to Donald Trump. Without any reflection or hint of hypocrisy. Because the GOP sold its critical-thinking abilities in Trumplandia where right and wrong are defined by who holds the reins of power.

It's one of many, sordid reasons why the Grotesque Old Party has reached its expiration date, forever.

They want chaos and disaster. They thrive on it, and it's an excuse to place the blame on their enemies.
